Excessive Yawning and Constant Need to Breathe Deep
Posted , 480 users are following.
For the past few days, I've been yawning a lot, much more than average (once every few minutes I feel the need). If I'm not yawning I'm breathing in as deep as I can to get similar "satisfaction". Often I cannot get the "satisfaction" from these and so the urge grows and grows, meaning it can get quite uncomfortable. When I do manage it, the urge is back a few seconds later. This is whether I'm tired or not, almost all day.
I'm not particularly anxious about anything in particular, and get the same amount of sleep as before this started.
This also happened at some point within the past year which continued for a month or two if I remember correctly.
Does anyone have any idea what it is or how to make it a bit better?
Thanks.

It’s odd you said you gave an irregular heartbeat. I’m nit sure if your pulse is the same as a heartbeat but I’ve been having issues with low blood pressure then it being normal, going back and forth. Then also with my pulse being normal and then very high, going back and forth with that. It’s crazy. Started years ago when I was diagnosed with Lyme disease. I haven’t had this in about 10 years. It’s a horrible feeling.
I’m going to make an appointment with a pulmonary dr and cardiologist just to make sure. My dr. Says I have asthma but nothing helps. Gave me Ibuterol, symbicort and a rescue inhaler, forgot the name of Ned, and it doesn’t help.
Keep me posted on your status.
Wishing you luck. 😊

I’m going to make an appointment to do a blood work to check for mineral and vitamin deficiencies. Probably will have to go to one of these centers that check for that. I don’t think a regular md will do it.

I've noticed I have an irregular heartbeat as well but only when I'm having the breathing issues. The first time I experienced this constant yawning was shortly after doing cocaine. I believe it was cut with something I was allergic to. Now I'm only being honest to help get to the bottom of this. I'm not a regular user of drugs. I do however believe that this breathing situation is an allergic reaction. I ran out of heartburn medication (omperozole) so I went to go buy more at the local store. However they were out of my normal med so I bought famotidine instead which is the same as pepcid. A couple hours after taking it I started yawning and trying to catch my breath constantly again. Remind you the last time this happened was months ago. I believe I'm allergic to the pepcid and that's what caused the breathing. Think about something you eat, drink or ingest that could be causing an allergic reaction. I would take another pepcid to see if it causes it again but the breathing issue is too scary.

Also I take meds one a day vitamin that has magnesium in it, so I'm not sure that's the issue.

Hello Everyone,
I am so happy I saw this post. I have been dealing with shortness of breath for over a year now. Last year was so scary I went to many different doctors and no one know what's going on with me.
When I was short of breath 5 years ago, i went to a ENT doctor and had been diagnosed with a deviated septum, had surgery got a little better and in 2017 it came back horribly for me. I went back to the doctor and had a chest x-ray, pulmonary test, ashtma test, food sensitivity test and allergy test done. Luckily, everything came back negative. I suffered for the entire year. Only in November I started feeling much better, I have no idea why.
However, now, in 2018 I'm starting to freak out again because i'm taking deeper breaths and it's worrying it's coming back. I have heard and researched a lot about GERD so I'm going to start a GERD diet and see if it helps. Maybe the caffeine is my culprit, who knows?
If anyone found more information please share! I can't stand this and it's scary.
Thanks!!!!

I'm not saying it is the case for everyone, but the diagnosis of vocal cord dysfunction is what I received. It's at least worth it to see an allergist and have it checked out! I suffered for 9 months in horrible pain and panic and anxiety. I'm not better, but I'm relieved to know that I can move forward with something.
