Experience of THR by Mr Witt at UCLH

Dear All,
Having been denied my first choice of hospital and surgeon I am researching to find the best option for my needs.I have been told that Mr.Witt is in favour of the Anterior procedure which I prefer.
Please does anyone have experience of a hip replacement by Mr.Witt?
There are so many helpful posts and willingness to advise others, but very few mention where in the country (or indeed in the world) and by whom their thr was carried out.
To me,a devout coward, this is the reassurance I am seeking.I am interested in individual experience and details of hospital/surgeon and after care received.
Thank you for any help you can give and best wishes to all recovering from surgery.

I am currently waiting for a date for my THR and am in Portsmouth but I do know Mr Witt as I saw her m last yr when I was trying to be persuaded to have an osteotomy first. No sale there I am afraid!! Have to be honest he came across as quite curt but polite. He comes across as being on a mission to complete his job so is not very personable!! I was told he was one of the best so as long as he does a good job for you then book him in. Hope this helps?!

Thank you for your reply,it really helps to piece things together in my mind.I hoped for more replies from patients of Mr.Witt but none forthcoming so far so your honest opinion is much appreciated.
As you say,I believe he is a good surgeon which is the main thing.
Very best wishes to you for your coming THR,hope all goes well for you.
This forum is a comfort to all of us with our doubts and worries. It is clear that many questions are best answered by others who are going through the same thing. The doctors and other medics do not have unlimited time for our many anxious questions, and many of us no doubt are fearful of wasting their time too.
Getting feedback from those who have experienced the whole process is invaluable.
Good luck and very best wishes

I recommend my surgeon Mr Richard power. He did my first hip in June and I have him down for 2nd hip in October. I had never been in hospital ever before and was so nervous so I Google the hip surgeons. Mr power has done over 4000 hips and also was the man who did corrective surgery for hips that were done wrong. I went to spire in Leicester private but Mr power does both nhs and private, my operation was over before I knew it. I had epidural. After 14 weeks now scar hardly noticeable. very good after care physio at spire too.
Good luck maggie
