Extreme pain after stem cell injections

Hi all. I had my second round of stem cells injected on Thursday (2 days ago) and still can't put weight on my right leg without excruciating pain down my thigh. Even when I'm immobile it aches, while the other hip showed no signs of any pain at all? Is this something I should be concerned about?

I have the same reaction. Mine is 5 days out. Did your pain resolve?  If so, how long did it take?  Do you know why this happened?

I missed your message, apologies! What happened with you? Mine was a staph infection directly related to the stem cell injection.

    Hi

it’s been two months since I had stem cells put in both sides of my pelvic area. I have the same symptoms as you. I am getting concerned I may have a infection. A lot of pain even when I am immobil as well. I am not walking well as my balance seems to be off some. I have had stem cells in my back and it was very successful and no pain very soon after procedure. I wasn’t told not to do any special care, and I have been quite active. I am wondering if I have hurt my self in anyway? I see my doctor Monday I can’t stand this pain any longer.

Mine was a staph infection - I ended up going to the hospital because the pain was so intense, was given an ultrasound and fluid was taken. They said it was just trapped fluid and sent me home with steroids.   It got worse after the steroids so I went back a day later and was admitted. They couldn’t determine where the infection was so did a wash out surgery just in case, and took bone and tissue sample while they were in. A  few days later it came back as a bone infection and I was put on IV antibiotics and sent home with a pic line when the pain was manageable and I could walk with crutches.

A week later the pain came back, by this stage I couldn’t even walk, so I was given a second surgery and they dislocated my hip and did another washout. I was in hospital for 5 weeks in total and kept the pic line antibiotics for 3 months. It was a hell of a journey and now means my hip replacement is likely to get infected so will be infused with antibiotics when they do it next year.

I hope you don’t have an infection, but I’d head down to the hospital rather than a GP and get checked out if I were you. Best of luck and please let me know what happens! ❤️
