Eye flashes after Barrage Laser Treatment , I'll document my experience here.

I had Undergone barrage laser treatment 2 week back for my lattice degenerative eye and I am experiencing annoying flashes and shimmering of light and my doctor told not to worry as long as there is no problem with vision. I'll document my experience here I feel that its the side effect of the laser treatment. At this point I feel lonely and there is no one to guide me in this situation.

Hey. Hope you're fine now. I've been diagnosed with inferior retinal detachment in left eye on 13th may. and lattice in both. I went for a routine check up. Had no symptoms. Bilateral prophylactic laser barrage done. I was seeing flashes the first day after the procedure. consulted the doctor and she said everything looks fine on examination. I went again yesterday.

I've a query. I'm seeing floaters. I was used to them before the diagnosis. Am I being conscious about them that's why they seem to be more than before or should I call the doctor again?

Hello, I am just seeing this post and recently had another laser barrage. The first was in 2019 after a retinal tear. This time an atrophic retinal hole was found on a routine eye exam. I am also highly myopic, have lattice degeneration and have just turned 60. I am active and love traveling but now I am afraid.

I agree that there is little information available that addresses the post-laser recovery. I was asymptomatic but now have tiny black dots that seem scattered and suspended in my field of vision - intermittently. I just saw my retinal specialist and he said everything is stable.

I am afraid to close my eyes in the dark because I occasionally see a little white flash or other visual disturbances. I believe they are called phosphenes.

I know I have to continue living my life but this is very difficult, as there is no way to prevent this from happening. At least reading that I am not alone in this is somewhat comforting.

    Thank you!
