So of course ive been staring in the mirror and anxiety high right now , so sick of it all - has anyone else had anything similar ? someone please say yes ! thank you xx

Yep, my face and jaw ache which leads to terrible headaches.  I have had my face get tingly (almost like numb) in patches and then go away.  Really strange stuff, makes me feel like "am I having a stroke?" or something.  I'm always worried about it as well, but so far everything is "normal" accordign to the docs (sometimes I swear they either just don't know for sure or aren't trying hard enough.  This forum has been a lifesaver in helping ease my anxiety, I'm on it daily now smile

      Hi ambercolleen,

I was just thinking are these ladies talking about the tooth and gum thing I get? Then I read yours and it reminded me, Yes I used to get this and thought oh no am I having a stroke? It felt weird painful like one side of my face was being dragged downward, I think it was left side and this is odd. I have shoulder ache it's left side, I got painful soles of my feet at one point began with the left and same with very occasional hip. If I get a headache it's always the left side. Tingly hands left always worse than the right and the gum tooth thing feels like my teeth sorry of ache just above (inside the gum) the roots usually at the top but sometimes top and bottom and always left side starts first.

You ladies say your face has changed. My husband has a photo of me maybe 4 years ago I can remember feeling so ugly and drawn. It looks like a good picture of me now, my cheeks have gone even flatter.

god ive never heard of that one before.   Could it be sinusitus, where the dips are in our skeleton in the face where the cheekbones are, when you have sinusitis the holes fill with infection causing pain, when you press your cheekbones in, it would be painful if it is infection,,  just a guess though, as ive never heard of a face changing during menopause.  Ive heard of  cheekbones going in with weight loss, gums receeding, but im talking more when your much older.

Hi ELaine , no it doesn't hurt when I press but there is definatly a change even my hubby says so! he's always giving compliments !! not !!.....I was reading an article online earlier and yes I found that plumpness in the face can be lost during menopause, how horrible. All part of getting older I suppose but today I'm going to try and smile instead of being so miserable all the time, despite everything it could be a lot lot worse - Hope you're ok x

hi  all these symptoms can be down to low blood pressure due to low blood volume, and thats why your cramping, you may notice it more in your legs, and ankles, and when you try to move your ankles upwards and downwards, it can cause the cramp in your ankles to come on, and the same in the toes, drink water to help it, blurry vision is caused by low blood pressure, all this happens to me.

thanks elaine for your care and simple tips

i was diagnosed by my first endocrinologist to be having high blood pressure so im taking bp meds for it. the last time i got it checked the doc said it was ok.

you are right i used to get cramps in my legs at night. it would be so bad i would have to get off the bed and stand on my feet and/or walk around till it normalises.

cramps in fingers happen less often but they did that day...sometimes when im trying to write too

take care and thanks for the advice ellaine

Dear lou sinus trouble in meno is common, the pain in your cheeks could be from your cheek sinuses (i think they are called maxillary sinuses or something) x

I've had similar aches and pains in my face. Sometimes if I stretch my face, it feels like my cheeks are bruised, sometimes my jaw too but then it goes off. It's very odd. I hope it lightens up for you.
