Hi Joy, I'm just going on my 5th week, & thought the same thing, I am facing a knee revision on the same side, so I know that is one strike against me, but I have had more pains the last week than ever.

I hope you don't get fed up, you are not alone in this, I hear ya !!!

I feel like I'm walking forward more now than ever, lower back pain too, hang in there I think we're just in a hurry, & it took me 12 yrs of dealing with these pain's & 2 TKR's plus this hip, so I think the body is paying me back for waiting so long to fix the ole' gal up LOL !!

Stay positive & 1 day at a time. Regards, Donna

    Hello Joy

sorry you are finding recovery tough. But you have to realise that what you have had done to you will be a shock. To yourself and your body.  it is not an easy ride. This isn't a race who can get off the crutches first. You have to listen to your body. Your body will tell you when you are ready for each step. This is a marathon not a 100 Mir sprint. I am 6 months post op and I have had many set backs I think I have found it tougher than most because 8 months before having my first of two hips done I had a total hysterectomy. Another major op. I am again 6 month post op staring down the barrel of getting my second hip done within the next two weeks and starting all over again so I totally understand how you feel. I hope any time you want a moan you will post on here you are not alone we have all been there

Hello joy, I can't top what Hailea and the others here have just said. Would like to add that you sound as if your sense  of humour issstill intact and that will help enormously.

My own sense of humour seems to have escaped into thin air when they cut me open! (lol)

Take it slowly. It's not a race as people on here keep saying.

    Hugs

Yep. Me too. Some days are good. Today however. . . It all seems so long. I'm nearly 6 weeks. I was prepared for 6 weeks, but I'm not nearly functional yet. Overall it's up but not every day is an up.

Funny....I am a week out and this is my 4th time and I was thinking I should be hop, skipping and jumping by now too! :-) How soon we forget that this is a process that takes time.

Hi. I'm sure most of us feel or have felt the same at various times after our ops. I'm 12 weeks post op and have also had ups and downs. I think because we are not elderly that it will be easy but it's not. It is major surgery with general anaesthetics and high doses of pain relief so it's no wonder we feel like we've been hit by a bus sometimes. It's will get better.  Keep active as much as you can and do the exercises. Practice the stairs and enjoy afternoon naps. My sleep is still a little disturbed at night so I do enjoy my 40 winks ( with no guilt!)
