God Im having such a hard time.  I feel as though Im losing it.  Everything seems strange to me and I feel like Im scared of everything.  Im not sure really what to do.  I am seeing a counselor..  Im taking some meds.  Im trying to do everything I think I should be doing but it seems like nothing is helping that much.  I feel so uncomfortable in my own skin.  Everything seems to make me feel like crap.  I have some medical issues going on.  Just found out that my Dads cancer came back.  Im afraid to drive.  Afraid to ride in a car.  Seems everything makes me uncomfortable.  Im not sure what to do.  This all just came out of the blue recently and it seems like it should be getting better quicker and its not.  Are these all normal things with anxiety??  Is it normal that everything bothers me??  Im lost......

    Hi Hank,

I’m in the same boat as you.  2 months ago I started with all this due to the stress of my Moms illness and then get passing a month ago.  I had to leave my job as well.  I’ve become so depressed, no appetite, I lost 20 pounds.  Anxious all the time.... it never leaves!  I don’t like meds so I’m trying to tough it out on my own.  I do try the deep breathing which helps temporarily but I hear you I want it all gone “yesterday”!  I can only tell you I’ve been in this position before and I have come out of it on my own eventually.  I think we do have to stop having fears of the anxiety symptoms because it just makes it worse. Easier said than done sometimes!  I will tell you without a doubt you are not going crazy and will not lose it!  It’s just the way anxiety tricks you into feeling! Best of luck to you... we’ll get through this through the grace of God!

Thanks Barb.. yeah its definitely tough on a person.  I have been through this too... but almost 20 years ago.  I don't know if its the age difference or what,  it seems a lot harder this time around to get my head straight.  I need this to go away though.  Im so sick of it.  Its like ruining everything.  I had the world a few months ago.  I have a great job, good little fam... Had it made.  I just hope I can get back to it all soon.  Thanks for the reply

Hank, i honestly know how you are feeling, back in March it got so bad I felt I couldn’t leave the house, couldn’t eat or sleep, constant terrifying thoughts running through my mind, constant state of panic. I went on meds then, they are helping but what I have found to be my saving grace is keeping busy and allowing those random terrifying thoughts and feelings to come if they want to.

I started with power washing, odd I know, but it was the monotony of it that helped focus me. I be upgraded the painting (not art), the external walls, shed table and chairs, that kind of thing. You have to find something, anything to focus on other than yourself, I know it’s so so so hard but start small, if you can only manage 10 minutes that’s just fine. Keep building the amount of time your doing your activity every day. We are all here to listen and try and help. There is a way out it’s not immediate which we all want but it’s there even though u can’t see it or feel it right now.

Hank, there are some great meditations for anxiety, panic, fear, grief, etc on you tube.

i Listen daily and it really helps me get a grip on whatever is making me anxious.

There are good short meditations for proper breathing also. Very important.

Check them out and using earbuds or headPhones gives a better effect.

Hundreds of meditations to choose from!!

Your reaction to stress is very common and normal, you just need to learn how to manage your anxiety and speaking to a counselor can be very helpful.

    ??👍😁
