Feel Like No One Believes Me :(

Anyone else feel dizzy/off-balance every day? I don't think my doctor(s) believe me when I tell them that I feel this way (almost) every day....I've not actually fallen down, but it feels as though I'm swaying even when I'm standing (or sitting) still....in fact, it's almost worse when I'm standing/sitting still....I was talking to someone in the hallway at work yesterday and thought I was going to fall over (although I don't think anyone can actually see me swaying)....I also feel a weird "internal" shaking in my legs sometimes...I've had a ridiculous number of medical tests, and they all came back normal....my doctors have suggested that it's anxiety, but I'm wondering if it might be perimenopause? My periods have been very erratic for the last eighteen months or so (which is about when all of this began happening)....coincidence? Looking for some advice from anyone who has these physical symptoms....how do you get through the days? I'm so frustrated...I just want my life back!!!

Hi Caroline,I m so sorry you are suffering.I could have written your post,I have the same nightmare life as you,Mine started when my daughter was 6 and she is twelve now!!! I wish I had the answer for you.It has killed my self confidence,I can just about to manage to walk my dog up and down the street,I didn't have anxiety, but as the years have gone by I now have severe anxiety, not surprising,I challenge anyone to live with feeling like we do and not be anxious.I do agree with the lady who talks about massaging your muscles,my neck and shoulders hurt a lot and I think it's because I m  tensing my neck I think it's a habit I have formed to try and balance myself.i m sorry I have no answers, but I just wanted to let you know you re not alone take care xx

      Hi fudgey

I also relate to you and no self confidence. I am age 51and almost 2 years post meno after a ten year natural peri ( no hrt)

I was having severe hot flushes 20 plus a day in this intense spanish summer heat and reoccurring shingles after 3 slipped disks.

My doc suggested escitalopram low dose for hot flushes - its a stronger newer Citalopram ( anti depressant) i am not given it for depression but to relax body - its apparently the new HRT - low dose - i wanted to share its stopped my awful intense flush waves - and my anxiety - i am driving here - there - everywhere - feel so much better - and i was only given it for flushes 😃 i was given 10mg a day - but i split them to get gently in body - so took 5mg a day - and just that small amount suited me and had made me get my life back

      I also take vits - a mega B 100 complex is very good -

      Good luck hun

Hi jayneejay, I've been in a terrible state for months now. The dizziness/off balance has got worse and it's causing terrible anxiety. I've been crying hysterically this morning since I woke up its the same every day I'm worried I'm going to be left like this. I've had normal ct scan of head & neck, doctors telling me it's panic that's causing it but I know my hormones are all over the place.

Gyno gave me HRT to try again, this is the 3rd attempt, I told him that FSH levels were high but last bloods showed estrogen still in normal range, think my problem maybe with progesterin. On 9th day now of HRT & I feel worse, first few day of taking I had heavy bleeding that's subsided now but I don't know how much more I can take of this. Hate being on my own, scared of everything including medication

I would appreciate any hope you can give me

      Thanks

      Hi brenda

Sorry your suffering . I didnt take HRT hun - its bound to confuse your existing hormones - emotions etc.

      your boosting your declining ones.

only HRT i use is Ovestinon vag Ovules by Gyno to soothe vag and prevent dryness - they are wonderful

I cant and wont take HRT hun .

Thanks for replying, hubby on way home from work as I've been in phone to him hysterical, feel like I'm going insane. I need to find a way of controlling the panic, I've allowed it to get out of hand today.

Enjoy your day in sunny Spain x

Have you tried the product "Anxiety Relief"? It is a sublingual pill you let melt under your tongue. It really works. Only down side is it is not long lasting. I have been trying a product with St. Johns Wort in it, and that seems to help too. I hate the anxiety!!!!! Definitely makes a person feel like they cannot function. I come from a family of seven ,and of four girls only I have had any symptoms like this. I am so thank ful for this site, and all of you who are sharing, makes a person feel like they are not alone.

Hi wear kitty just come onto this site my symptoms are exactly the same but I have put it down to allergy season I do have at the moment blocked nose muffled hearing in one ear but I do relate to your symptoms of dizziness loss of balance and weirded feelings in my legs and tingling I fingers I've noticed this comes on more when I go the shops I always get anxious before I go which I think brings on the symptoms I used to be like years ago now I feel like it's back ugh. Reading some of the letters I'm wondering now can this be menopause related I've not had a period now for 18 years. I don't know if it's hot flushed I get my face doesn't go red but I do get panicky and then I get a flush in my face which makes me more panicky lol.

      Hi Caroline

think it may be Venlafaxine ????? Is it

Thats antidepressant in a group of drugs called selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SSNRIs). Venlafaxine affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause depression.
