feeling dispondent

I have been counting the days - hours even until my THR on the 3rd August. I had my pre-op on Monday. Got a call from the hospital this afternoon saying that my HB levels are a little low (10.7 ) and that I need and 'infusion' not sure what of, waiting for GP and anesthetist to call back, and that surgery is likely to be postponed - for up to 5-7 weeks as that's how long it will take for infusion to work. I thought it would be immediately, and anyway, I am only borderline low - I am always like that so is my Mum and my grandmother was - its normal for us. Anyone else had such a problem. I'll be absolutely gutted if its cancelled. I am on max pain relief - but no relief and zero Quality of Life at the mo. cant walk more than a few feet, can't sleep, sit, stand! I'm sure some of you can relate to all that!

Hi - the infusion is probably an iron infusion - it only takes 15 minutes or so, and is administered as an IV. I've had a couple, and they really fix the iron levels straight away. I had my THR with low HB, and I had trouble for months and months ... my GP suggests I should have waited 'til my levels were tip top.
