Feeling Happy

Having been sitting for weeks watching my husband do everything he pop out this afternoon and I got the hoover out.... yes I have sat here for days thinking can he not see it.... so out he went and I have hoovered through our flat,, and then mopped the kitchen floor....
This acheivement has made me feel so happy I suffer with mild OCD so you can imagine when I see dust and bits I am cringing... I do not complain as he has been wonderful, and i know I am not a good patient.
Off for a few days as I need to go and see my Consultant who is in Hillingdon, and I am in Eastbourne. Some may ask "why that far" because my local trust would not operate until I had reached 65yrs old... at 55 I was unable to walk, sleep, sit, without pain. The consultant is a friend of my daughters and saw me walking at her wedding and told me to get referred to him... thankfully I did and am now getting past the worst of it.
Good luck everyone because this time last week I was in a deep dark tunnel..

Great to hear your on the mend, I'm 48 and had a thr just over 7 weeks ago. I too had to sit and watch everything being done around me. It wasn't long before I was waiting for them to say, I'm just popping out will you be ok? I would nip and do those little tasks that were bugging me and getting sat down again before there return. Also wanted to say, I had to changed doctors surgerys as my old surgery kept saying your too young. I was crippled I could hardly get to work. Changed doctors and got sorted straight away. Good luck.

I had been complaining no xrays done, because I also require knee replacements they just said it was my knees not my hips.. and would not even take me seriously. In the end so many xrays taken by new consultant, and told "your hips are buggered and your needs are nackered. we will start at the top and work our way down"......whilst in hospital the Ward Dr asked me how I had coped having looked at my xrays. I explained to him and he was not surprised as Eastbourne is a retirement town and also was put into special measures.
My GP did not like referring me and avoided this until I sat in his office and would not leave until he agreed... now I find him unapproachable but luckily they are a training practice so I just make appointments with trainees and they are wonderful..... they listen...
Our health system is being crushed and stamped down to bare minimum ...

Hi nigel. Im forty nine. I had the same problem, being told that I was too young, bone on bone. I had to insist that I couldn't carry on working until I had it done,im seven weeks post lhr, now waiting for my right hip. Nice not to have all that pain. Im back to work, I told the dr I wanted quality of life, not quantity, good luck

Wow Elaine!!! 😳😳. My pt said I had to wait another 4 weeks to sweep and mop because of the possibility of twisting which is a big NO NO!! 🤓 When I dislocated my hip, I had been mopping and sweeping and vacuuming.....I'm still not sure when or how it happened! Like you I hate to see the dirty floors and see how my hubby and granddaughter sweep.....not up to to my expectations!! The mopping, well I had to get a lil rough with my hubby and told him it had to be done!!! Well again a very Shi&@$ job!! 😆😆. I keep a very clean house so I'm going crazy at what I'm seeing!! But I have to just grin 😁 & bear it!! Please be careful and glad all is going so well for you!! 🤗🤗 hugs, LD

If I have done anything I think it may have happened weeks ago... when I forgot not to bend to pick something up...
My next task will be my oven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! think I will pay for someone to come and do that though.... it would be more benefical... as I normally sit on the floor with my steamer... but it is now 3 cleans behind my normal regime.... I dare not look at it..
I am not taking risks but cabin fever combined with carpet needing hoover just took me over today.

I was wondering the same thing.... some people are just so clever but look at the top of the box you are typing in and I found them...

Good choice re the oven - please don't attempt it.
Sometimes ... it is worth looking the other way and spending energy on your exercises ... or out for a walk.
Question - what advice would you give a daughter in the same situation?
Meant with kindness.
