Feeling horrible after been on the steroid prednisone

Thoracic Strain led to Dr prescribing Prednisone.

Took prednisone 50mg (5 day cycle) and since day two of the cycle been dealing with sleep deprivation, Burning Tongue and upset stomach. Its been a couple of weeks since i came off prednisone but symptoms have not changed much. Night time is the worst because tongue burning sensation is magnified.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

I got prescribed two tabs of Prednisone for 5 days (20mg) for Eustachian Tube Dysfunction and yesterday was the first day i hadnt taken it. I never got any bad side effects while taking it but as soon as it hit 24 hours since the last dose I started to feel weird. I became a little dizzy and off balance, running a fever, weak, aches and pains, head pressure, my head felt heavy, and fatigue. Today i feel a little better but im still off balance/dizzy, a little weak, a few aches and pains, and fatigue. And i cant tell if its because of coming off of the steroid. But i will say the only issue i was having before taking this was being dizzy/off balance (for 3 months) and they said it was because of a middle ear infection... so im hoping this can be relieved because i found a lot of relief while taking this drug until obviously when i stopped yesterday.

Hi lm new to this site it's just good to know that I can talk to some one who under stands I have been on preds for ten months reduced slowly been of them 3 weeks with horrible side effects shaking flu like symptoms and feeling to hot and anxious hate these tablets will never go on them again

Hi, hope all of you feel better. dr prescribed me methylprednisolone for 8mg twice for asthma for 7 days than 4mg for another 7 days and one day break than again 4mg for 7more days. now 12 days off from last dose i am facing similar problems like lost of appetite, admitted to hospital for several weakness and still facing same. even not able to sleep.

any suggestion how to overcome with these symptoms.

i was also put on prednisone for 5 days taking 8 tabs a day. ive been off it almost a month. side effects didnt hit me until about a week and a half after finishing them but it started with acne and heavy depression and anxiety. my breathing started to get short and my chest felt heavy. the depression and anxiety has went away but im still dealing with shortness of breath and my chest feeling heavy. side effects last any where from 2-8 weeks:/ wish i never took prednisone

Hi Im new to this site I was on preds for ten months after tapering of came off them a month ago and I'm still having horrible side effects of shaking flu like symptoms weakness in my legs and and having hot spell is it right the longer your on these horrible tablets the longer it takes for the side effects go

Hi I know how you are feeing I was put on preds ten months ago started tapering of them slowly have been of them six weeks and I'm still having horrible side effects same as you aches and pains feeling week and shaky and hot will never take these horrible tablets again

I am going through a similar experience. I recently had covid and my lungs had some inflammation. so my doctor gave me methylprednisolone. it was a 6 day regime and I finished. while taking it I was feeling some anxiety but I tought I would just stick it out. I did and now feel I have some muscle spasms , muscle aches and anxiety.

Hi tammy I have the same problem I was on steroids for polymalgia for ten months starting on 40 mg after slowly tapering finished 7 weeks ago still having bad side effects week and shaking like flu I hate them tablets was going to see my Dr but probably would say it's not the steroids hope you feel better soon

I feel so yucky and I finished my pack 3 days ago and today is the first day of feeling bad since. I plan to rest and ride it out but inside I want to freak out and run to the ER.

i took prednisone as an option to help a breathing issue I've been dealing with, And research led me to that drug. i took 40mg for 2 days and 20 on the third. it seemed to be of no help so i quit. that was 4 days ago. I've been in hell since then. can't sleep, bad fever, very sore, chills, disoriented, fatigue. i'm wondering if the fever thing is something to be expected? my o2 levels also go way down if i exert allot of energy.

i wish i would've came to this forum before deciding to use the drug. i have decided my body is very intolerant to synthetic drugs and I'm not taking any of them ever again!

since i only did it three days can i expect to feel better soon?
