Feeling horrible after been on the steroid prednisone

Your symptoms are same as mine. I took 40 mg for 3 days and 30 mg for 3 days and on sundays it will be 8 days since i had my last pill. I am still not completly recovered, anxiety is the main issue along with hightheadedness, i also feel dizzy some time and surely having vision problems. However my symptoms are not as severe as they were in begining. May be it will take more couple of weeks. I can understand how you are feeling right now...it will a story in few weeks time so do not worry and just ride it out. KEEP POSTING

Sorry i mean to say it will be 8 weeks on this coming sunday which is 29/04/2018.

Thanks for responding, have you been to the doctor? What do they say about your symptoms?

The doctor said it could be because of the prednisone but is not 100% sure about it. However is prescribed me anti depression pills and another medicine for healthy nervous system for 1 month. I have already been on the medicine for 15 days and i have to visit the doctor after completing my medicine. I still feel wierd since i have been on prednisone.

I just asked my to test my cortisol levels. She ordered alot of bloodwork to also check my thyroid & other stuff. I should know something by next week. I might ask her to prescribe something for this anxiety if it doesn't pass soon. I've been sick since the end of February & just stopped the prednisone this month. I can't go another month dealing with all these symptoms. I hope you get better soon too!!

I also got my thyroid chevked along with complete blood count and few other tests. Everything came normal, so now just counting on the medicines. Hope you also get well soon.

Hey there sorry I wished I could've responded earlier. I know for sure when I was going through the exact same thing I was praying for fast answers.. well today its apr 28 2018.. I can gladly say that I've fully gained my apetite back.. I took the same flash pack of 50 mg predisone the hospital gave me on mar 17th 2018.. I can crazy vivid dreams anxiety some crazy brain fog that I cant explain through a message it was just a un natural feeling. And I've never experienced that in my life. So on mar 25th I refused to stop taking it and my body went hay wire after that.. after googling all the side effects of predisone I was determined even though it was a few days of taking the medicine my cortisol levels were way off and I was going through the withdrawals. It took about roughly 3-4 days after I stop taking them to feel a little bit better. I was loosing weight fast cause I was keeping track of my daily calories cause I had to force my self to eat my stomach had no desire to eat. I figured the anxiety was making my metabolism work harder cause I would also randomly check my pulse on my phone and it was always in the neighborhood of 80-98 bpm.. so I'm sorry you have to go through this and all of us. I noticed right about apr 16 2018 I started to feel way better feels like I was finally at normal level.. the dr ran a Complete blood count everything was normal except my vitamin D was super low so he said that's the reason why I broke out in hives combined with stress and anxiety because I was worrying to much. So hopefully I pray that if any of your drs tells you to take any more medicines to counteract the side effects stop them if you can. what worked for me was completely stop taking all the antihistamines etc and pepcid and predisone and let my body reset by it self. And it was a rough one week or two but I'm back to normal "praise god for also helping me through daily prayers to not taking any more drugs" but here's another interesting fact a friend of mine wife got a nasty stomach infection and the same thing the hospital gave her predisone and i warned him to earn her.. he didnt think it was a big deal and thought i was just a paranoid. A few days later he text me shes having rhe exact symptoms I had after she stopped. We both looked at the prescription and if you look at yours I'm willing to bet the Manufacturer name will be "Roxanne " we believe that this manufacturer is doing something different to the formula and we all need to stand and do something about this. So with her case was alot better than mine she went to the er rhey have her ivy bags and some vitamin shots and she said she felt better verses me I had like 2 weeks of suffering or so.

Thank you for your prayers, I am going into my 4th week of stopping the prednisone. I hope this will all be over soon. I have 3 children and a husband who don't understand how horrible I feel everyday.

My heartburn is so severe I've been to the ER twice from chest pain. That's the only medication I still take, the pepcid. I've stopped everything else, just waiting on my test results to come back so I can start vitamins. My doctor doesn't want me on anything until she has bloodwork back.

Well fortunately with me I stopped pepcid I know people laughed at me like pepcid was nothing but do a quick Google search on pepcid. I went the natural route and did a small 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in about 4 ounces of water and it immediately cleared my heart burn in about 30-45 seconds..its alot safer than pepcid I promise try it and you'll see

I will try it!! How long did relief last with the baking soda?

It worked for almost the whole day unless I ate something like pizza or heartburn triggers.. but for rhe most part I would do it upon the flare up of heartburn and it worked wonders.. just have to be careful not to take too much baking soda If your on a sodium restricted diet.. stay plenty hydrated and I promise this will work

WELL Hi every body i glad i found this Forum. nice prayer you gave for evey one TOMM. yes i am on anti depress- and other medications be for i got my first tube of prednis- cream from a side effect from some stupid men only hair color. i never had any problems in my life that would make me take STEROIDS. any way the pred creaM DID NOT DO THE JOB. sooo i made the big mistake by going to the e.r, and the doc saw the meds i was on and said i dont think it would be good to give you a shot og 80mg of steroids to clear up some swelling do to the re of hair clolor be c of the meds i am on. af course i stupidly said i could take the side effects of a steroid shot ,sooo he greatly put one in my arm. this was about 5 months ago. i hope i am not boaring ya all. so i left the hospital feeling OK.  and went home feeling fair abd thanking God i will never touch FOR MEN ONLY HAIR COLOR AGAIN. IF ANY ONE READ THE INSTRUC- FIRST .AND LOOK ON THE MEN HAIR GREISIN 5 SITE AND SEE THE SICK PEOPLE.  also a class action law s going on against FOR MEN ONLY. sooo here i am 4-5 months later and actually starting to recover from blowing up worse than i was be for the prednizone. just coming out of a sevier depression and confusion . i and know one would no whats wrong with my up and down moods. even felt like ending my life many times but new my JESUS would not let me do that. well i am not feeling so good right at this moment for my mood is on a down slide as of oops now. thanks every one i love to read your story's to help me feel not alone.
