Feeling like you might pass out when getting up from laying down

Is this another symptom of perimenopause? When I get up from bed I sometimes have to hold on to my dresser because I feel like I might pass out. Head tingling etc. This symptom really scares me. Also I have such a hard time eating because of anxiety and stomach upset and indigestion that I have lost over 20 pounds since last September. These things are really starting to scare me. Is there anyone out there going through this?

Hello Debbie,
I'm 3 years post now and on HRT.
In my peri years I had the same symptoms. I'd sometimes feel dizzy kind of drunk during the day as well.
I also worried about my weight loss, but if I'd known then I would go on to gain it all back and some I would have made the most of it!
At some point maybe a year prior to my last period I had awful cravings just like when you are pregnant, always at night and always for fattening foods and my appetite became huge. I've read other women on here have had the same.
My weight was always around 9st 7 went down to 8 7 and is now 10 7 and I can't seem to shift it no matter what I do.

Thanks for your reply Angie. I really hope I will be coming to an end to all this soon. This is my 6th day of waking up with nausea in the early morning hours. I have to force myself to eat anything at all. It seriously makes you think something is terribly wrong. I weigh myself all the time and cry when my weight goes down. I'm 5"5. I now weigh 120lbs. When all this started I was 145lbs. I can't wait for the day when I have my appetite back, your words and your experience through this really helps me to have hope. Thank you ??

Debbie, my symptoms all came crashing down in January of this year. Every symptom imaginable. Have been to tons of Drs, tons of testing, and still more coming up. Feel like death most days, and the nausea is the most debilitating. Also diagnosed with Gerd and gallstones, had gallbladder removed. Very sickly feeling most days. Have lost almost 50 pounds, and Drs are not concerned. This has been one of the most frightening aspects of my symptoms. I hope it levels out soon. Ladies, why do you think we lose all this weight? Can't figure it out. Anyways, hope we all get through this soon, as this is no life.

Hi Debbie,
Sorry to hear you are suffering.
With regards the Gerd try ginger capsules 2 before meals (about half an hour before) and sip ginger tea made with fresh ginger after eating. This worked so well for me (I had been on a proton pump inhibitor for it which cut the amount of attacks but didn't stop it) anyway it worked so well after a month and no attacks I stopped doing it and gave been fine every since.
I would think the weight loss is due to feeling so nauseas all the time coupled with high anxiety.
