Feeling neglected 😞

I had a  leftTHR 04/10/04 and I'm now starting to experience pain in my hip that feels like my hip is dislocating and have been referred back to Wrightington Hospital were I had my original op. I was told by the doctor that I should have been in for follow up appointments every 2 years but have never been sent an appointment since being discharged .  The doctor says this causes problems as they have no X-rays to compare against and  they have no notes/X-rays  in my file pre or post op as they've all been destroyed!  I've had problems with the same hospitaI regarding my left foot (I've posted about this previously). I feel like I'm at the mercy of these people but have no faith in them at all any more. I'm so fed up with the situation and it's really getting me down.

So sorry about this, Joanne! I'd be feeling neglected, too. First, even though they have no comparison x-rays, that does not prevent them from taking new x-rays or other imaging (i.e. MRI, musculoskeletal ultrasound) and physical exam to make a diagnosis for your new pain and disability. A comparison is not required for a proper diagnosis. Demand to be seen and examined, as you deserve!

Second, I'd post this in the Hip Replacement Forum, since you may get more responses there. https://patient.info/forums/discuss/browse/hip-replacement-1109
