Yes, I can hear exactly what you are saying... Hang in there. Remember your body fights an infection and the antibiotics doing the rest to wipe you out. So just try to rest, stay on fluids and pain med to help you through. You will feel better in a couple of weeks it just takes time. Prayers sent your way

Yes, arevyiu still on the antibiotics as they contribute to the overall weakness yucky feeling?

Not on antibiotic at moment, maybe I should be

Yes this was me in Monday..You should probably get checked out to see if you need meds..Ive had the disease a long time, so I know whem I need meds. I didnt this time, did 2 days heavy liquids, meaning drank clear liquids hourly..tea, water, broth, apple juice, white grape juice, ice pop, jello, repeat..3rd and 4th days added probitoc yogurt and pudding to that mix, also 4th day added banana yogurt smoothiex 5th day added deli turkey breast, toast to that regime..By day 6 feeling much better..See if u need meds, either way go on diet and take tylenol, rest up

I feel ya sweetie, are you on antibiotics, if so take Florastor probiotics, lotsa fluids for up to 3days, organic beef or chicken bone broth, Gatorade and cranberry juice helped me. I go by the Diverticulitis pain free foods diet and the Mayo Clinic diet, very helpful. And no dairy or red meats or high fiber foods for awhile. Nothing with seeds or nuts. Heating pad and lots rest. I lost 34lbs and developed anxiety/panic attacks and now possibly have IBS been dealing with this for 4 months. Funny how the brain and gut work , I’m better now just have diverticulosis, and eating very healthy just takes lotsa rest, patience, and time, you’ll get better, prayers your way.

    Hi Kate..

Totally relate to ALL your symptoms !!"..😢..😴..this cruel condition takes over everything.. nothing worse than not feeling in control of body .(I'm s person who likes control)lol..I so wanted to get loads done today but I've spent 80% of my day curled up on the sofa in pain.. constant 70% sleeping between bouts..& hopeing going to the toilet every half HR . not knowing if I want to open my bowels or be sick!!!

Got lumber injections next WK .. compressed nerves in most of the spine apart from about 30% which lets me know that it's there especially with this diverticulitis belts..

Chin up don't let this take over..grap as much positivity along the way to pull you through..😉??

Tks for your help, did you suffer any other pain besides stomach?

Why no white bread, all I’ve seen is white bread not wheat to start with.

Is Questran otc or a prescription? White bread or wheat, I cannot eat dairy or eggs anymore, Have had diarrhea 12 days now with lower back pain and burning lower left ab.  Afraid to eat anything.

Yes, depending on the severity of the flare and how long it was going on I would get back pain, pain urinating, nerve pain down my left leg..Aside from weakness and extreme fatigue..

Hi jenny, thanks so much for keeping in touch, I'm really feeling down with this pain now, it's so severe low in my back, hip, groin, I think it must be something worse than diverticulitis, this couldnt be normal, surely a flare up can't last so long x weeks, going for mri tomorrow, absolutely terrified,

My pain goes away pretty much after the antibiotics. I have extensive diverticulitis in the left lower quadrant and the right upper quadrant. I think you need to be seen by someone if it’s still that bad.

Hi, I have been having diarrhea, nausea, bad burning pains in lower abdomen, bad lower left back pain that goes to my buttocks and leg, I have had Cat Scan, Endoscopy, all the blood work, and stool samples which are all normal and now going to insist on colonoscopy. I thought for sure a flare up but Dr says no signs of one just still have diverticulosis, I went on the liquid diet then soft foods now back on my regular strict diet. I keep a food journal, but still have all the icky symptoms, think I got IBS now also. So confusing this is a tough one and freaks me out also. Afraid to eat I’ve lost 34lbs in 4 months. Well best of luck on upsoming tests and prayers for a speedy recovery. I’m seeing my Dr this weak going to have them do more tests to rule out candida, IBS, and CUDD,

Hi Vicki, really appreciate your reply, Im exactly same as you, in my case its both legs, buttocks sometimes, only difference is I don't have diarrhea, bowel movements are urgent but look fairly OK, today I have severe burning pain in lower abdomen, your right in wanting a colonoscopy, it's the only way to know exactly what's going on, I wish you best of luck also and will say special prayer for you, pls keep in touch

I’m also going to suggest going on the Low FODMAT diet. I’ve heard it really helps.

My GP suggested that diet to me about 3years ago, but I did nothing about it

I hope you are feeling better! Try not to worry ahead, sometimes lots of pain comes with a short lived flair or small problem that just needs some time to heal..It took me a while to find my triggers, for example any kind of rice can put me flat for a couple days..Let us know how you do of course. We have all been in your shoes, and hopefully we can all help each other out with support and brainstormingsmile

Hi jenny I will keep in touch, pain not too severe today, had mri of lumbar thus morning, results back to gi on Wednesday then he will decide whether to do a colonoscopy
    • Posted

Sounds like there is a trap nerve or compression/disc problems going on.

Great news your getting taken seriously with the MRI on the bck plus it will pick up your diviculitus condition too..🤞all ok.

Also need to keep a eye on the bladder & bowels..going numb in the grion area with difficulty going to the toilet is really serious and medical

      attention asap..

Tks Anita, will keep you posted, don't honestly think can know what's going on till I get a colonoscopy, wishing you well

Hi Vickie, just wondering did you get your colonoscopy done yet or maybe get a date for one, how are you feeling now
    • Posted

I am miserable, I have my consult with new GI on 26 , I just had more blood work and another cat scan and all was normal, waiting on stool results for, SUDD, IBS,and Candida of gut. Dr wants me to start Candida diet for now, so I have been doing liquid diet today and tomorrow, my Anxiety is so bad right now also playing the waiting game, feeling so much tummy discomfort afraid to eat anything.

    • Posted

Hi vickie, know exactly how you feel, it's cruelty, waiting is so full of stress

    • Posted

Was looking at the Candida diet and it is a lot of things not to eat , much different than DD diet. Makes me nervous to eat.

    • Posted

It's almost impossible to know what to eat, only common denominater is keep bowels cleaned out, I take a fibogel every day and eat rhubarb in custard or something every day

I saw dietitian yesterday, she thinks I have SIBO, so she put me on low FodMat diet/ SIBO diet and is setting up a time for the test. My stool labs are not back yet, so just playing the waiting game. I see my new GI Dr Friday to schedule colonoscopy. And got appt set to see food allergy Dr. So nervous 😟 just wanna know now what is going on.

I found out if your out of the stage of diverticulitis and just have diverticulosis you can still have major pain and symptoms due to the scar tissue. Weird
    • Posted

Really is weird vickie, my colonoscopy is set for next Thursday the 28th, so pls say a little prayer that it's clear, I'm very nervous /anxious as I've been in pain since start of May

    • Posted

Best of wishes and prayers all is normal, the waiting is the hardest, but just think positive and feel relieved it’s just around the corner. And all will be good. My supposible flare started May 25 . So strange all blood work and 2cat scans show no sign of flare up or infection. Yet I’m in so much discomfort. So playing the waiting game on all other tests and colonoscopy. And eating the Low FodMat diet . It’s hard not to be anxious and stressed, but I do my breathing and meditation, walk and try to stay positive and grounded. Keep me posted. HUGS

Thanks very much Vickie, really appreciate it, have you any date yet for your own colonoscopy?
    • Posted

No, I see my new GI Dr tomorrow and we will set up the date. My Dr has put it in as urgent so hopefully won’t have to wait to long. I actually feel better past 2days, after doing the liquid for 48 hrs and starting the Low FodMat diet and taking GSE 2 x a day, and drinking Golden milk, and a special tea daily. No sugar or starch, dairy. I doing mostly smoothies, Salmon , spinach or chicken and asparagus. Bone broth. My stools are normal again. Just wish I could get the anxiety and panic under control. And hate waiting on all tests makes it worse. You on antibiotics? Soft or liquids?

Hi vickie, great to hear you are feeling a bit better, no I'm not on any antibiotics at moment, just trying to eat soft small amounts of food, lower back and rectum still paining me with a little nausea, five days to go to colonoscopy, really nervous my gi marked mine as urgent also, I can totally understand your nerves and anxt, I'm exactly the same, but the fact that your stool is back to normal is a great sign

Hi Kate, how are you feeling? I saw my GI Dr today and have colonoscopy next Tuesday! Yayyy but very nervous 😟 Still waiting on stool tests to come back. He is also having a SIBO test done, waiting to set that all up. Still confused on how and what to eat, he said for now stick to low FodMat diet along with DD diet. Hope your doing better. I’m here for ya. Hugs

Hi vickie, you got a fast colonoscopy, I'm next Thursday, understand your nerves I'm same, are you still in pain? Hopefully it will all ease once your colon is cleaned out, all we can do is keep busy till it's done and pray for a good result, the prep is hard to take, put a tiny drop of dilute orange or blackcurrant into each jug, it makes it a bit easier to drink, will be thinking of you on Tuesday, try not worry all will be fine, sending you massive hug, kate

Thank you Kate, last night was a bad night, had major bloating, gas pains and spasms in abdomen. Gave me anxiety, so no Jennie-O turkey, zucchini and spinach for me. I also started taking GSE , so going to stop that for now. Drank some tea and took a Xanax put on some meditation videos to help me calm down and go to sleep. Stress and anxiety makes this disease harder, wish I could get over it. Hugs
