Am I the only person in the world whose hair, or lack of, has gone into shock, and fallen out?

Joy I am losing my hair and am worried sick.  Doctor wants me to wait until after Christmas and then start to look at my bloods and check all vitamin levels and minerals.  He said after such surgery we are most likely aneamic due to blood loss and need to be in good health.  He said after Christmas we are well fed on good nutritious food.  My hair is so bad now I think I will see him before then as I am so worried.

Do you mean the matted fuzz on the top of your

head when you come out of hospital? I had that,

but now I find hair on the comb which I think comes

from broken strands of hair. Or have you got lumps

      of hair coming out?

      Hi joy,

You must be generally run-down and need some good food and vitamin supplements. Remember your body has gone through a massive trauma (watch You tube video clip if you can bear it)

Yur hair will improve slowly but I feel you need to give it some help well before Christmas. What you eat now will not show in your hair for several months, because hair is slow growing.

I also use a natural iron supplemnt called Spatone (from any pharmacist) which you drink with a vitamin C drink like Ribena. It is milder than iron pills and does not cause constipation.

Not sure about this but has your GP checked your thyroid levels?

Again that is something which is easy to treat but takes months to stabilise.

Please try to get this assessed. It could be why you were so fed up at the beginning of this discussion.

      Hugs,

      Shirley

Can sympathise, really struggling with the lack of sleep. It's the having to sleep on my back. I can't seem to find out when I can sleep on my side again.

I am 8nweeks post-op and sleep on my side with pillows inbetween my legs, I tend to get a good four hours this way.  On my back the most I manage is two hours and my heel is sore so have a small pillow down the bed for my leg to rais up and lift my heel,,,,, if it aint one thing it's another,,,

Thanks, I am lucky in many ways I am not quite 3 weeks and in very little pain, just swollen ankles, due mainly to lack getting feet up in bed as just can't do the sleeping on my back.
