Good evening,

Just wanted to see if anyone has experienced fever's after surgery.  i am three days post op direct anterior.  Seems like once a day my temp spikes up.  I am sure it's not uncommon.  Just wondering how long before this part goes away.

Ah, the old night sweats problem.

Rose posted about this some time ago, she was told that our immune system is in overdrive to protect us from infection, it is responding to a large injury to our body, and it does not understand the injury was intentional. Night sweats are a sign of a highly functioning and healthy immune system and are to be celebrated!

      Thanks Graham,

I assumed most people experienced the same.  Hope this doesn't last long.  Best wishes to you!

Tony, I am 25 weeks post-op and had a fever after surgery which continued after release from the hospital. It was determined that I had developed a UTI from the catheter during surgery and was prescribed 2 rounds of antibiotics which knocked it out. I would definitely bring it to your doctor's attention. Good luck!
