Finally found the cause of my Prostatitis

After my 2nd test of just providing a semen sample, Staphylococcus was found to be my problem causing prostatitis. This is good news to me since I have been dealing with this for 7 months and on and off for years. I was on 2 weeks of Cipro and since it did not work and I am allergic to shell fish so Bactrim will not work, the doctor would like to administer the antibiotics via poss IV ABX, every day for 28 days. The clinic is close by me thank God and will be in an out in an hour each day. Does anyone have experience with this procedure for Bacterial Prostatitis?

Hi everyone -
Very happy to find this forum. I have been dealing with bacterial Prostatitis for a year now (at least). On and off Bactrim which seems to make symptoms (originally pelvic and testicle soreness, now only lower right ab pain) go away but they come back after a period of time i have seen 4 urologists now.
I very recently flew to Athens Greece to be seen by a specialist who believes that all Prostatitis is bacterial and that Non bacterial chronic is nonsense. He did an ultrasound that supposedly shows serious inflammation and is currently testing a prostatic fluid sample and a separate semen sample. I will have those results in a few days.
His protocol is 4-6 weeks initially of daily prostate massage, targeted antibiotics (for the particular strain of bacteria) to include injections into the prostate. I have connected with an individual who has done 10 weeks of this and he is basically cured with no symptoms now.
I live in the Tampa St Pete area and noticed someone had posted awhile ago on this forum about a Urologist in Tampa who also believed that urine samples were insufficient to detect bacteria and was treating with IV antibiotics for a month
If anyone know who this Dr is please message me. I would do anything to have a treatment option that did not involve flying to Greece. Sorry for the very long post Again happy to find a forum discussing this.
