Hi it's my first day of orlistat and I am suffering a terrible headache, is this a possible side effect?

I am really looking forward to seeing how I get on with my weight loss

If anyone one has any snack or meal ideas I would really appreciate it and I would love to hear everyone's stories xxxxxx

    well done fatfairy!! thats brill.x

Wel i have just come back from the doctors and i have been given the tablets. i can take three a day and just wondered if everyone else takes all three a day?

A typical day for me would be porridge/milk or weetabix/milk and at weekend low fat sausage, bacon medallions and tinned tomatos.

Lunch would be either a home made soup, salad, jacket potato with either beans/tuna/chilli (home made using extra lean mince)

Tea would either be chicken/meat/fish with veg or pasta/rice.......washed down with a few glasses of wine (the wine i am assuming will have to stop?)

Does my meals sound ok? I am unsure on when not to take a tablet if there is no fat present, i thought most food had hidden fat in?

For lunch i am having a home made veg soup, should i take a tablet for this meal or am i worrying too much and just take a tablet with every meal?

    Thanks in Advance!!

    Hi Debbie ,

Glad you got the tablets I was given them on Monday by my doctor as I also have thyroid problems and have been gaining lots of weight.

I was told to take 3 tablets a day as long as the meals I have had fat in them and if I don't have a meal don't

    Take the tablet.

The meals to me seem fine , what I can gather is no more than 5g fat per 100g and no more than 15g in a meal. Don't quote me though I'm learning from reading the forums. I am checking my fat and also sticking to a 1200 calorie a day or as close as I can and joined slimming world this week too. My first weigh in is Wednesday morning.

I've had no side effects from the tablets atall so hope they are working.

Good luck Hun and keep us posted x

Aww thanx Clair I think I just need to shake it off and work extra hard this week x

Staying the same is weight is much better than gaining weight, keep positive. Do you weigh monthly or weekly? X

I'm at slimmingworld too and i also weigh in on a Wednesday evening so not expecting anything major for my first weigh in as im sure it will take a few days to get into my stsyem.

The only difficulty i think i am going to find is i buy a lot of fresh food so trying to identfy how much fat is in the product might be tricky.

good luck Clair and everone else.x

Hi it is my first day on orlistat, am feeling really positive and am looking forward to finally seeing some weight

    Loss, I hope!

Am a little confused as to how many tablets to take, my Dr told me 3 but I often don't have breakfast due lack of time! (Joys of young children and work!)

Do I still need to take one at breakfast then?

And food wise how much fat am I allowed to eat? Really don't want to get any of those nasty side effects!

Thank you in advance for any helpful advise
