First day of orlistat

Hi it's my first day of orlistat and I am suffering a terrible headache, is this a possible side effect?

I am really looking forward to seeing how I get on with my weight loss

If anyone one has any snack or meal ideas I would really appreciate it and I would love to hear everyone's stories xxxxxx

Only been on them a few days but doctor told me if I don't have a meal or it has no fat that I don't need to take the tablet. Also I believe its no more than 5g of fat per 100g

I've had so side effects so far so must be doing something right I guess. It has sort of scared me into eating vvery little fat.

The thing I'm struggling with is my sweet tooth later in the day x I did buy some snack a jacks today so I can nibble on that later

    Good luck

Thanks, that's what I thought but its really good to hear from somebody in the same boat!

I usually follow the rosemary conelly diet as that is very low fat, so I will just carry on with that then.

Thanks again and good lunck to you too

Hi Guys how are you all doing? I lost 1lb this week which I was pleased with as I went to a wedding at the weekend and drank alot!! (baaaad hellen!!) I followed the rosemary conley diet for the first couple of weeks to kick start my weight loss but i have been advised to follow weight watchers as this seems to be a more realistic long term eating plan. So far I have lost 12lbs in 3 weeks (about 6kg) so if you follow the rules you definitely get the results!! Hope you are all having a good dayx xx

How does alcohol effect the orlistat, as that telly is my main problem at the weekends!! 😜

Yes I do snack, I am a mum to two very energetic boys and if I didnt snack I think I'd keel over lol. I have low fat yoghurts, pink n white wafers (although these are probably syns on sw) and occasionally I allow myself a 2 finger kitkat, but very rarely!! lol. I seem to have the side effects under control now and I know that I can have a small treat every now and then if I want and its fine. On sw I would suggest snacking on cold chicken or ham or crudites. Fruit is fine to snack on as well just be careful I find if I eat too much fruit I get very very gassy!!

I think alcohol is ok as there is no fat in it just calories. But obviously stay away from creamy stuff like baileys etc. Although alcohol has no fat it is high in calories, 1 shot of vodka is 50kcal so this will slow your weightloss if u over do it regularly. it shouldnt give you the dreaded oil though lol
