Hi it's my first day of orlistat and I am suffering a terrible headache, is this a possible side effect?

I am really looking forward to seeing how I get on with my weight loss

If anyone one has any snack or meal ideas I would really appreciate it and I would love to hear everyone's stories xxxxxx

    Hi guys,

I am starting orlistat tomorrow and feeling really apprehensive about it because of the side effects that may happen.

I understand that you should eat a healthy balanced diet but are keen to find out what kinda foods people eat, especially for breakfasts and lunch.

Also I'm 24 and so like to go out for drinks with the girls on a weekend, have any of you drank alcohol whilst taking them or should I cut it out completely. I have previously done really well whilst following the weight watchers plan but came to a complete halt In my weight loss so really hope these work.

Well done to you all and really motivating to hear how well you have all done.

    Thanks

    Leah

Do you not feel hungry? I would be starving only eating that? I am concerned about what foods are too much fat and may cause some embarrassing side effects! Any advice on that yet?!

    I start tomorrow!! eek!

Hi, I started last week, fed up with trying to loose weight by going to the gym, joining weight watchers etc anand loosing nothing but motivation. I have lost 3lb this week which is good. Got to go back to my GP in three weeks to see how much i have lost and whether its working and i can stay on it.

Good luck Deborah I hope it works for you. I've been very hit and miss with mine, I keep forgetting to take so I've only taken it two days out of four. Anybody else forget to take them and if you do would you take after starting a meal?

    Hi

I started them via my Dr. on 1st July and 4 weeks later (today) have lost 1st 1lb 8oz !!. Really pleased as tried many different diets over the years, and given up a couple of weeks later. I take 3 tablets a day but 2 on a weekend as I do not tend to eat lunch those days. They certainly make you think before choosing food as I have had a couple of 'tango days' !!. You will know what I mean if you've had one !!. I have around 7- 8 stone to lose and if I can keep up 1 stone a month will be really good. I told my Dr. that I have a lot to lose and wanted to lose more than 2lbs a week and the weight loss does spur you on.

Food wise I have cereal for breakfast, chicken/noodles and yogurt for lunch and dinner is either fish, or chicken, brown rice and brocolli and small sweetcorn. Sometimes I don't have anything or just a boiled egg and although I feel a bit hungry I know that it will increase the weight loss. I am drinking plenty of water and the loss is starting to show in my face and in my clothes. I also had a bit of a headache for a few days but I always did starting a diet as coming of chocolate everyday !! - it soon goes.

I wish all those on it to keep going and you will see the results !!

Back on Orlistat tomorrow been dieting and lost 3 stone by calorie counting, but seem to have reached a stalemate have not lost anything for 3 months despite increased exercise. Doc has suggested Orlistat may be a good kick start. Used it about 8 years ago but a series of unfortunate events made me stop. I put that down to not following a low fat diet and boy did I suffer. Lesson learnt.
