First day of orlistat

Hi it's my first day of orlistat and I am suffering a terrible headache, is this a possible side effect?

I am really looking forward to seeing how I get on with my weight loss

If anyone one has any snack or meal ideas I would really appreciate it and I would love to hear everyone's stories xxxxxx

    Hi Michelle

you must have started the same day as me - I haven't had any side effects so far (thankfully) but even if I had I think I'd give it at least a couple of weeks before deciding whether or not its working for you.

well done on losing what you have so far; if you're like me you'll be at a stage where weight loss slows down, so hopefully Alli will provide a bit of a boost,

I bought a book called the Alli diet plan which had just arrived from Amazon when I got home this evening which I'm looking forward to reading, I'm actually quite enjoying cooking from scratch for a change so far!

    Good luck with it

Hello this is my 3rd day of taking tablets. I'm worried I'm not doing this properly. I trying my hardest to make them work. Am I right I have to eat 5g of fat in snack and meal times it's got to be 15g of fat at meal times. I have had a headache and nothing else. My doctor gave me these tablets to take but the dietiab is fully booked for 3 months. Am I doing this right.

    Thanks jem

    Hi girls,

I have stopped using this because no has been on since October, welcome to you both, I have been on these tables for quite a while now - i think about 2 and half months. I have lost just over a stone meals are 15 grams of fat and snacks should be about 3 grams of fat. Hope this helps and you should still count calories not sure what you both weigh but most of us stick to about 1400 a day

    Hope this helps

I started Orlistat monday just gone and so far I have lost 3lbs! I havent had any side effects but I have been sticking to the guidelines. I also do insanity which is just the best workout before starting orlistat I did insanity for 30 days and lost 11lbs. So hopefully these combined will work even better. I went to the doctor and specifically requested these as a friend of mine has had really good results. I need to lose about 4 1/2 stone in total. My issue isnt necessarily fitness as I have always been active, i just eat like a horse afterwords. Orlistat does give you a fear of having side effects and I think thats what motivates you to eat well. I dont believe in treat days, each to their own but I just think if I'm aiming to be healthier, rewarding myself with food is sort of messed up. I prefer to buy myself something nice or go somewhere. If I really feel like I need to eat something I will, not because its a treat but if I constantly say no I'll fall off the diet. I think 'treat days' you just gorge on anything and everything and its not good for your motivation! This forum looks very helpful having people to give tips etc! Sorry for the long post I'm new to forums ( and a blabber mouth) xx smile
