Fluctuations in pain .

I am 3 months into frozen shoulder and the pain has been so bad at times . I have the steroid injection which gave no relief , been to Osteopath which made it worse. Over the last few weeks I have stuck to ice and heat and in bad days taken pain killers , over the last week the pain was starting to ease even though my movement was poor . I really had hoped that maybe I was about to enter second phase , however today I have woken to increase pain again . I just wondered can this happen in the first stage? . I had hoped that it was going to get better. Is it normal to get these fluctuations before it moves on. The pain throughout out as been bad in my upper arm ... Xxx

Sorry to hear this. I'm into my second year and although I have movement now I still have pain. Get yourself a TENS machine. They really help. Best of luck to you. X

Hi Moll the d...g...injection sounds like a UK hydrodilatation....is that how u spell it...saline into joint....hope it goes well...I think FS is very individual. ..but looking back on my first I wish I had been more active in treating it ...I.e. hydro or MUA...anyway I'm 3 weeks after a MUA...chronic pain has gone...it's a grim condition..I've had four complete sleep nights in five months...good luck

I know it gets you down and you feel like it's never going to end . I feel like I just have to get on with it . My doctor says to just take pain killers to manage the pain and in time it will go. I just feel I have been pushed aside and left. Take care x 👎👎

I completely agree with you on this teresa.  My doctor says he's had it twice and it'll go away on its own.  I don't really think he understands the level of pain on this.  I know everyone is different; but I'd like to be listened to.  Personally, if PT doesn't work for me, I think I'm going to check for a second opinion.

In pain since 2013 with left shoulder, pain killers, injections and MUA twice, right shoulder pain started 2015, MUA march 2016

Still in pain in both shoulders. Consultant refered me for P/T although he felt it would be of no use for the right shoulder after the amount of time and having diabetes is not helping things.

GP has referred me back to the hospital awaiting appointment.

Pain at night still bad and keeps you awake at night, pain killers no help.

I am 60 and took early retirement as I was taking time off work. DWP don't see f/s as a reason for not working and as I receive a personal pension I don't receive JSA. Only other fellow sufferers know the pain of f/s, shame it's not recognised as such.

John would you recommend doing mua? You did it both times so it must have helped some?
