so after my Rezum yesterday I drain about every hour or two at this point.. my flow starts and its fairly strong. at the end it stops abruptly and i get a sharp pain in my penis - base and tip. every time same thing. then i get a much slower dribble with like a vibration along my shaft i feel like I'm peeing pretty good but not much is coming out...
anyone else experience this? anyone know whats causing it?
thank you

Not sure I'm understanding you. Do you have a Foley Catheter in place or not. You are talking about a flow and peeing pretty good but your heading is about a FOLEY CATHETER. You also said you just had the REZUM yesterday so I would expect you have a catheter in place. If you don't have a catheter, then sounds like you are doing really well without one but if you do have a catheter, then it is too soon to tell what the outcome will be. Please explain in more detail.

If you haven't already done it, you want to tape, or otherwise secure your cath tube to your leg just below where you attach the tube at the top. Leave a gentle bend in the tube to allow for a little movement. I just used paper medical tape to avoid irritation.

If you have one in, then you are emptying not peeing. The burning you feel could be the bladder spasms Steve mentioned. Sounds normal to me.

Sounds like the classic symptoms of having a Foley in. I had a Foley for several days after my Urolift four years ago and the same feelings would happen to me. Also, I would have painful bladder spasms where it felt like I was peeing for sure but in actuality nothing was coming out. I believe that what you are experiencing is normal post surgery. Hang in there!

Your urologist should be giving you answers that you can rely on for which he earned his fee. There should be no guesswork from others as all patients are different.

I so much agree. Usually sending you home to wing it is what happens. When something comes up, it's difficult to reach the doctor for questions. Doctors should be required to wear a catheter for three days in their training so they know how to instruct their patients.

so i had a rough day (day 3) with blood and spasms at the end of emptying as well as burning in my bladder and penis and feeling like Ii had pee all day
i drank 1.5 gal of water today,(a bit more thsn days 1-2) peeing every 30-45 min. I used ice all day along the underside of the shaft down to my testicles. also on my low abdomen over my bladder.
im happy to report by bedtime the constant feeling of having to pee and the burning is gone..
i still spasm at the end of emptying my cath but its 30% of what it was.
i cant emphasize enough the use of ice to control pain and decrease swelling. my doctor didnt tell me about ice. i know about it from other injuries and surgeries.
im supposed to get the cath out at 8 am after 3 days. ill let you all know how that went
