nearly 2 yrs ago was diagnosed with oesophagitis, Barretts , chronic gastritis...was on many different meds (apart from PPi and H2blocker cant remeber the others) 2nd scope 3 months later showed Barretts was minimal so gastroenterlogist took me off all meds... now i just use Enos when needed

No hard to digezt foods like fried and fatty. No butter.
Easy to digest things. U can grill, steam and boil lean chicken, fish but no skin. Doctor Kaufmans acid reflux diet is good or low starch diet isnt bad.
Im no wizzard but inbox me if u want to know more what i do.

I feel for you.
I was on lansoprozol for 5 years and it stopped working for me,
i control it now by watching what I eat and drink,
my triggers are Tomatoes, oranges. White bread, chocolate and wine. I don't drink much coffee if I do it's a weak de-caf
I do have them sometimes but then I take gaviscon and have manuka honey.
anxiety for me make Reflux worse, but I'm on a low dose of sertraline, because iv been going though a rough patch but that's a different story.

I used to drink mint tea, but someone said that it's a no no because it relaxes the oesophagous, like coffee wine chocolate etc does.
mine food triggers change tho. Some days I can eat strawberries and another day they are like poison. I really don't understand why that happens.
i think that now I'm on a low dose of antidepressant my anxiety has dropped so has my acid reflux.
hope everything settles down for you soon. Xx

I have heard that organic appple cider vinegar can help reflux haven't tried it yet, think I will look up how it works first. I think the only place that sells it is H&B.

Yes I get this too and I find that the morning is the worse time for the lump in my throat and food sticking. Does get better through the day. My bed is propped up but maybe it needs to be higher? Wonder if it's the lying down through the night that causes it?

Yes Carole,
I too get this, I think Raffa is right laying down seems not to help, as I am aware that mucous from the nose at night runs down the back of the throat and lays on your chest that doesn't help.

I actually didn't realise that mucus was a symptom of reflux. Sometimes I can suddenly just get completely blocked up like I've got a cold and then my nose starts running but it clears eventually as isn't a cold - weird?

Hi Raffa,
My Gastro told me that we all make about 1.5 Litres of mucus a day mostly we don't notice it we need it to lubricate our gut and stop acid build up it also keeps the lungs and other organs lubricated. some foods can aggrevate it apparently like Eggs beer wine bread wine and pasta to name but a few, I suppose that is why we with acid reflux get stuff stuck on its way down. and they reccommend you drink plenty of water. just abit of useless info.

Wow that's really interesting. I think I need to see a nutritionist. I'm not good with my diet at all as tend to stick to anything bland. No fruit or veg much 😔

Don't leave veg out of your diet Raffa especially green vegtables as they are full of Vitamin K and you need that for a healthy gut, mostly all of the vitamins we need to keep us healthy are made in the gut.all taking goodness from each other to keep us ticking.

Hi there me again how are you feeling? I've had an awful week or two including spending a lot of it hardly eating and having to sleep sat in a chair - not great. Saw doctor and said I couldn't cope with it and he said to up the lansoprozol from 30mg once a day to 30mg twice a day. I'm really worried about doing this though as they make me feel bloated and nauseous already but more than that, I'm very concerned about the latest research into these types of drugs. I'm guessing most people on this forum are taking similar?
