Fore skin redness and shiny penis glans

Posted , 31 users are following.

For the past one month, I am having red foreskin and red spots on glans.

There is a white discharge under the foreskin even if I don't clean it for a single day. After washing the glans become shiny n develop wrinkles later. What it possibly be ?

I had sex around 1.5 months back. The symptoms developed after 15 days from the sexual activity. I used condom though. I don't have any issue while urinating but after urination it burns for 5-10 minutes at the tip of penis. I am uncircumcised and 25 year old. I consulted a urologist and applying onabet ointment for past 20 days and taking doxy tablets but the condition is not improving. The urologist diagnosed blantopithis. But I am having no improvement.

Please suggest something.

i have the same issue right now. the last time i remember i use dove bath soap. now i have this.. now i use to clean my penis only by water at dry it out with clean towels. i have some scaly skin on that area. ? tried canesten but no luck. @sukigirl any tips which i can do to lessen the redness at shiny skin on that area. Thanks in advance

my hubby uses coconut oil (raw, pure, organic, cold pressed) when he gets a little bit sore and red on the end. However you look more than just a little red - is it sore or sensitive? if canestan didnt work it may be bacterial in which case you need fucidin cream (only available on prescription). You may also need a steroid cream to reduce the inflammation - trimovate cream contains a steroid and anti fungal and anti bacterial (again only avail on prescription) - everything you need in one cream and safe for vulvas and penises.

i have remembered that trimovate is no longer available:

"There is currently a supply problem with Trimovate® cream. The rights have been sold to another company who will bring it back onto the market late in 2018. Meanwhile there is a supply of unlicensed imported Trimovate, but the cost of this will vary from retail pharmacies and there will be fees for sourcing it. Therefore it should not be used in primary care. "

There are alternatives such as timodine cream, which do the same thing.

The red shiny appearance coupled with the dryness looks like psoriasis. You need to see a dr to get the correct treatment. Is it itchy? If it is it is important not to scratch it. Do you have psoriasis anywhere else on your body? Have you had it in the past? The usual treatment is steroid creams or ointments (topical corticosteroids) . You also need to keep it moisturised - coconut oil is good for that, or a bland emolient cream, such as diprobase (available over the counter at pharmacies).

it could also be dermatitis / eczema triggered by allergy / irritation.

Hi. Please I need some help concerning a problem I have been dealing with since I can remember ( 13-14 years). I have a painful glans with some mild redness ( looks like a mild rash) . Its between pain and discomfort , I feel it more when I pass my finger on the glans rather than simply touching ( maybe skin problem) .

I was uncircumcised until the age of 21 ( 3 years ago). I did the surgery because of this pain ( hypersensitive glans) and also because I had a mild case of phimosis ( I could retract the foreskin when flaccid but it was hard when erect). During adulthood, I didnt know I should wash under the foreskin ( Nobody taught me that), so one day when I was 13-14 I realized that I should retract it backwards. This is one I saw a big layer of smegma down there.

So I guess this has caused some inflammation in my penis which still persists until now ( I dont know if this is possible or not). I went to many doctors including dermatologists and urologists , they always told me that they cant see anything abnormal in my penis and that any pain present should go away by itself. But It never did...I always had this issue. I used many creams over the years including terrasil ( for balanitis ) and Man 1 Man oil but they never helped me.

I am wondering , maybe I have damaged my glans with all the masturbation and poor hygiene ( when i was young) and that the skin needs a lot of time to regenerate ? I tried to stop masturbation a few times for a period of 2 weeks, but It didnt help at all ( maybe the redness was less but the tenderness was still there). I have to mention that I am a virgin STILL! , this is mainly because of this issue and me being afraid that it would hurt me and I will be embarrassed in front of the girl. I also sometimes feel itching when I am wearing my jeans, I feel it in the frenulum area. Its like itching and discomfort ( a little pain).

Is it possible to have fungal or bacterial infection without it being obvious to doctors ? Should I do a swab test ? I even though about doing a biopsy because I am going crazy because of this issue, but biopsy was not an option where I live. Please I need some help over here ! Its affecting my life and confidence in ways I cannot keep up with. Thank you in advance !!

it sounds like you may have chronic balanitis that could have originally been caused by infection or physical trauma from the surgery. It is a chronic inflammatory and hyperactive/hypersensitive nerve condition. I'm afraid that it will only get better if you don't aggravate the nerves and inflamed tissues - no sex or masturbation - and treat it with utmost care. If you do not stop aggravating the tissues, it will not get better. Some men find coconut oil (raw, cold pressed, unrefined, organic - available from supermarkets) soothing. There is also a special gel made from plant extracts especially designed to treat this condition called balanil, available online direct from the manufacturer in Italy (because it is made of natural ingredients, it is not classed as medicine). Just google epitech shop. The gel and wash are also available from amazon. Note, the postage is very costly from Italy. The instructions should be in English too (they were in the one i git for my hubby). There is also a balanil wash. Otherwise, only use pure water to wash.

Thanks for replying. But the sensitivity was present also before I was circumcised. I did because I thought it it would clear the pain ( hypersensitivity) , because I as I know , the glans of uncircumcised males tend to be more sensitive because its not in contact with the outside environment .

So u are saying it's probably balanitis with nerve damage ? or skin damage because of poor hygiene and excessive masturbation causing the trauma?

    • Posted

Well ...sometimes I was masturbating a lot. before and also after the operation...so maybe this with the poor hygiene when I was younger has caused inflammation

    • Posted

The poor hygiene wouldnt cause the balanitis, per se, but any infections could. I am not sure what an excessive amount of masturbation is for a man - every day?

Some times I was yeah. In some days , I did it more than once a day. So maybe the skin got damaged and this has caused inflammation / infection which still persists now. but the problem is that all doctors I went to ..said that they cannot see anything wrong with my penis. SO I am wondering , is it possible to have a swab test for bacteria/fungi without having a discharge coming out.... or a skin allergy test ( maybe I am allergic to detergents or something else.

with balanitis the skin can look normal. there may be several contributory factors here and perhaps the cause is not really worth mulling over now - you need to concentrate on getting better.

    • Posted

What do you mean the cause is not important to know ? And how am I supposed to get better If I dont know the cause of it and the way to treat it ? I dont really understand you

    • Posted

You need to know the diagnosis, for example balanitis, but the cause of the balantis (infection, physical trauma, etc) may never be known.

    • Posted

hmm yeah thats bad. Wont skin biopsy help usually if there the inflammation is not visible on the penis? Or other bacterial/fungal tests ??

    • Posted

I went to doctors but they told me everything looks good and there is no need for tests according to them. But maybe there is something that is not seen to the naked eye

Ok. Thank you for all the help

      really much appreciate it
