Foreskin adhered to Glans on one side (24 years old)

Hi everyone, I have been keeping this a secret even from my parents. I am 24 years old but my a section of my foreskin is still attached to the glans. When I was young, nobody told me that I am supposed to stretch my foreskin back regularly. Hence I suspect that that was the reason the foreskin did not separate fully from the glans.

-There was a time where i pulled too hard and the adhesion turned reddish.

-Below that adhesion the foreskin is already detached from the glans since i am able to pass water or stick a small object under the skin.

-Given my age, would I still be able to separate the adhesion naturally by pulling it apart everyday? Appreciate the help!

Travis, the whole of my foreskin was attached to the head of my penis when I was 17YOA and I managed to separate it using antiseptic cream and by stretching it.

So there are two approaches: the medical - go see a Doctor / GP or if you are in the UK go to GUM Clinic at a General Hospital. The GP would most likely give you a steroid cream to aid with the stretches.

At the GUM they may suggest a very minor surgical procedure.

With the DIY approach you have already noted that you pulled too hard - stretching must be done very gently to start with, and gradually over a period of months more pressure can be applied.

There is an excellent description of how to do stretches, but as we are not able to post external web site links on here you will need to use these search terms:

Thanks for your response Dugie, I guess I will try the DIY approach since im afraid of having any knife near my penis.. I have a Betamethasone Valerate 0.025% cream and I might try using that together with the stretches since I read online that doctors prescribe that for people with phimosis (to soften the skin).

What I am afraid though is whether if there are any pain or bleeding when the foreskin eventually separates from the glans?

      Two more questions:

-After stretching for some time, does the foreskin just separate one day when I try to pull?

-Will it look like separating 2 'sticky' skins or will it look like I am ripping the skin apart?

Sorry for asking too many questions!!

So, the simple answer is the glans and the foreskin and 'designed' as it were to separate naturally - most males at sexually maturity onset do not even realise that this has occurred. Others' who experience this say it suddenly 'pooped' and the two things were separate from one-another. The thing to avoid is applying too much force ..

Sorry, I will try to get the spelling right on this one:

      .

As I just tried to describe, some notice that it suddenly pops, others don't even notice - so yes it may happen while you are stretching one day.

Again, they are designed to be separate entities - layers of skin in their own right - so this is where gentle exercises come in, as long as you take a gradual approach to the stretching you do there should be no ripping, that occurs when too much force is applied too early. In terms of sticky skins, many males mention this sense of stickiness - but what usually happens is that once the skin becomes used to being exposed it will look and feel pretty-much the same as the skin elsewhere on the glans .....

I remember first noticing this happened to me when I was 14. I just started ripping it a little bit every day for a few weeks and it all came off it's more of a rip if you want to get it off fast but idk that's what i did. I'm not a doctor tho

      Hi,

It's unlikely to effect growth or size.

Feel free to dm me if you prefer that way.

I've noticed that I had that problem since i was young (13 years old) and it was way worse than that as it was fused near the very top of my glans. Now, I am almost 17 and it has mostly separated except for at the coronal ridge. I would assume that it should have separated by now if you are 24. Through research, I've found that some doctors do a procedure called a preputial adhesiolysis which separates the adhesions between the glans and the foreskins under local anesthesia with a blunt probe instead of a knife and does not require circumcision. What ever you do, do not get a circumcision for preputial adhesions.

What you are experiencing is very normal for many young Men. For the vast majority of these the skin will free itself in its own time.

Never use force to try to separate the two layers of skin - gentle pressure is sufficient and keep it clean as you are doing. When taking a warm shower is the best time to do stretches but avoid putting soap and shower gel directly onto the entire upper-shaft and head area of your penis.

If you have any liquid coconut oil in the house you can use a tiny bit on the head and foreskin area that you can expose as this may help the process ....

can i use a vitamin e and jojoba oil enriched cream?

    • Posted

You could. as with anything too much is no good - all you need is a light coating each time you use it - your penis does not need to be saturated with it ....

and i think i may also have slight phimosis (im 16) as my foreskin does not go past half the glans but when soft my foreskin does the same thing as the picture above

I cannot prescribe medication - what you need is something that matches the problem that you have and to take into account any relevant other skin issues that may be present.

The best person to see would be your Regular / Family Doctor or GP .....

Otherwise, read the detail in all the responses above to the original Forum Post ......

My Foreskin is completely adhered to entire underneath of the head of my penis - it has never caused me any problems and I have full sensation from sexual function, I am 63 now.

In terms of what you should do it depends on whether it is causing any issues, or is it mainly a one of aesthetics?

If you look at it this way: many men across the world have this now and multiples more have had penile adhesion issues across the centuries, I suspect the majority of them were either totally ignorant of the fact, and what is more important, for the majority I would suggest no problems were caused by this.

You could look at the potential for minor surgery to free it up - but I would suggest many Urologists would simply advise a partial or full circumcision to save the potential of having to do further surgery to your Foreskin in the future .....
