From bad to worse...

Well I thought borax was helping. The last time I used it was a week ago, it was followed by major flare, swelling. Started up clob at full speed again (2x/day)...Then tried the aloe along with it. Some relief and hope. But yesterday and today the fusing has become more and more (I didn’t know it could fuse even MORE than it already has!!!).
Awaiting turmeric essential oil - will arrive Tuesday if I’m lucky. I am very low income so can’t try all the things I’d like to...
So today I cried and sobbed while soaking and showering... I have must-do errands to run and laundry to do. So I’ll carry on...
But I also wanted to mention just in case —- I’ll post separate. Withdrawal from Cymbalta (duloxetine) is something that can mess up hormones and increase chances of autoimmune issues. Wee, I’m there!! A person can only take so much and I’m at the end of my rope.
Thanks for listening and being there.

I'm so sorry for your pain! I noticed you stated you were low income so I understand having to shell out more money for some relief. If by chance you have olive oil on hand you should try it. Before I was able to go to the doctor and didn't even know I had LS, I used olive oil with tea tree oil and it gave me so much relief! Even if you just use olive oil. It really healed my flare and for me the Clob makes me burn. I pray you get some relief soon!??

From my experience it needed lots of repetition, till today. Rinsing with warm water and three pinches in my Perin bottle after most bathroom visits, sitting in a borax bath (1/6 in full bath, later a bit more) every other day. And that for months and years in a row. In the end I won.

So exciting you won! Do you still use the perin bottle and do the borax soaks for maintenance?
Thank you!

Pat hello we’re all here with you living LS and trying to stay positive and proactive sending you a big hug 🤗. Pat my question is about withdrawing from cymbalta are you going to take another med cause i find that LS is so mentally charging that you need to be sure to be able to fight the anxiety. I’m on citalopram for my facilities to see everything worst than it is ( depression) . It helps me to see things realistically instead of negatively. So yeah are you being switched to another med?

Oh, Sweet dear Pat!
SO sorry about the backslide; it's so depressing just when we've thought we've done everything right. Don't give up though. keep the faith, we've all been there. Hppefully the tumeric addition will seal it up well.
So, my apologies, I don't remember... are you taking vitamin D3? at 5,000 IU minimum? I upped mine to 15,000 when the fissures felt really bad. (then be sure to start taking lot s of Vitamin A to counterbalance it they kep each other from being toxic).
When I first started down this road I just knew I was gonna have to "eat beans" in order to afford the supplements. and now i kind of alternate back and forth with what i know is best to kinda keep up with it all. It seems to be working, but I really wanted to give it an all out attempt at super nutrition right up front.
Thinking of you, Pat... blessings and hugs

Thank you to all of you for such wonderful support.
I’m pushing thru but it’s not been easy.
I decided to give borax another chance. I’d been using it faithfully since long before drs. with no problem so perhaps it wasn’t the culprit. I’m about to find out.
I take D3 (5000) almost every day but not A. Will have to work that in somehow. I also take pomegranate extract, marshmallow root, garlic, ginger, omega and I think that’s it. I also need some B’s and K2... can’t keep up so I do my best.
Eating has been MUCH cleaner tho not perfect (I live with my daughter & family and she is the dinner cook - she cooks nutritiously but still gluten here, I work around it but not gf as of yet).
I’ve traded chips for blueberries with a dollop of plain yogurt... that sort of thing.
So tired of my brain working overtime and afraid to eat or do something wrong. I’ve become a worried mess!
Yes coming off Cymbalta VERY slowly and it’s a bear. I truly believe it is related to all of my current health problems. Contributed or caused, I’m not sure.
Also suddenly drs that started me on Valium years ago decided to stop prescribing it - inhumane and not correct protocol (I’ve had LOTS of bad dr experiences!!) - but I had a stash from never taking as many as they rx’d so I’ve been weaning that too.
My joy is my grandchildren and I took time today to play with the baby (2mo old). It helped get me thru my misery.
So much love to you all.
I’m beat. Will update soon, hopefully with more positive news.
??????????

Good Evening Pat, I'm so happy for you that you have your grandkids around - smiles - my litle one I got to see at July 4th celebrations makes me smile from ear to ear.
Pat, I wanted to mention that MAGNESIUM that is an integral part of the whole Vitamin D3/K2, magnesium, Vitamin A, omega-3, zinc autoimmune protocol - IS an antidepressant as well as mucho other stuff.
Let's see, which version is it, anyway if you take as much magnesium as you an without getting diarrhea perhaps it would help you fell better as you slowly come off o the drugs you mentioned. WE AR ALL DEFICIENT IN MAGNESIUM.. I keep reading article after article on that. hugs

Hi Pat, hope you are having a better day, don't want to put a downer on the Vit D theory but please be careful, I commented recently on Nancys thread about diet about taking to much vitamin D especially when you are taking other drugs, my levels rocketed, I felt dreadful and it affected my calcium levels. Take care.

Good morning Joe, well it is for those of us on the east coast of the United States.
So, Joe, have you had time to read the entire protocol of nutrition list that I collected from doctors around the internet? Please do find the time. In it you will discover that scientist doctors know that Vitamin D needs to be balanced with vitamin A (and vice versa) THEY BOTH have healing aspects for autoimmune diseases.
AND - it is not a theory/hypothesis Joe, honey, and it is not mine.
These recommendations from from worldwide sources who have found these thing out. I'm so sorry you had the problem of too much Vit D making you feel badly. However it sounds like your own docs hadn't yet read up on the full set of interactions that I took 3 months solid to do so. like magnesium so you don't get constipated, and like vitamin K2 which is what apparently helps get calcium to the bones not to get stuck to the joints and blood stream, etc.
Cofactors.. cofactors is the operative word here. Please read it and contribute to make it better.
