From Morning to Night

Has anyone switched their meds from morning to night after being on them a while? I stay so tired all day even after getting a good nights sleep. Ive been on the meds for four months and wasnt sure if my body would go nuts switching abruptly. Thing are bad enough as they are. I dont want to do anything to make it worse.

      Hey Rob,

Today has been a bit rough. Not sure why anxiety was worse today, except we were at my inlaws out of town and that must have gotten to me. Had some intrusive thoughts, which always scare me, but Im doing ok this afternoon. We left our kids with them for a week, so it will be interesting to see how I do without them home. Theyre usually a good distraction.

I still havent had any withdrawls from reducing twice now. I am still as tired as I was on the 30mg, but I do think the shakiness is getting better. And the weird bruising has gone away. I cant tell you what to do, but I personally havent had a negative experience from reducing, yet. Today is day seven aftet reducing again down to 20mg. So about a month since Ive been at 30mg. I havent needed as many therapy sessions and I have been able to reduce my benzo most days, so I think that is a good sign.

Are your pills 20mg? So youll have to chop up your pills? Or do you take two 10mgs? I found it hard to split a 20mg into 1/4 evenly. One reason I only stayed on 25 for three weeks. I wanted to get to where I wasnt chopping the pill. Now Im taking one 20mg pill.

Are you doing any physical activity? Id suggest that this week as you gear up for your trip. Take a walk or do something that makes your heart rate go up for at least 20-30 minutes.

Keep me posted!! I hope youre having a good day!!

i didnt feel any effects from reducing for a few months, infact i felt great! some people get bad withdrawals others not so much, from what ive read and experienced 10mg and below are the hardest to get off withdrawal wise, also instead of pill splitting ask for liquid maybe x

      hi laura

it sounds like your heading in the right direction & you havent had any withdrawl yet which is fab news, espically after 4 weeks of reduction. the fact you havent needed your benzo is proof enough, so far so good, really happy its going good for you.

i on the other hand feel rank!

i get this feeling like im gunna burst out shaking & i get this silly confusion where i dont understand sentances, its like mild confusion, i was on 10 mg for 4 weeks & felt good, it was my decision to go up to 20!

i can remember walking into my local pub after 4-5 weeks on 10 & feeling brill, really sorted, best ive felt ever on this medication, its now 5 months into 20 mg & i still feel like a square peg in a round hole!

i go on holiday in 6 days, thats the cruncher for me!

what do you think if i drop just 5 mg?

      thanks for chat laura

Rob, worth a shot, especially if you were doing so well on 10. Worst case is you have to go back up, but my thought is, youre feeling crummy on 20mg, so its not like youre feeling good and risking feeling bad again.

I also increased to 20mg and felt horrible, confused, my mind didnt seem to want to think right and I stuck with it for 7 months.... What I didnt realize was apparently that was too high for me, I didn't stick on the 10mg near long enough to see if it was enough. Soo, I started to decrease thinking I wanted to get off the meds, and I went from 20mg to 15mg and almost right away I felt good, I felt better, still had a few dips but for the most part I feel back to normal now. I've not had to take my anxiety meds in a long time now. Soo possibly as your doctor about decreasing to 15 then 10 if needed, That may be just what you need.
