Frozen shoulder 3rd time lucky

Posted , 16 users are following.

Hi, For those  of you have seen my comments on here already, thought I would ask the question, but has anyone been unlucky as me. Seen consultant Monday to be told I need third operation, arthroscopic capsular release - revision. Have lost count of the amount of steroid inj I have had. The pain is still awful and keeps me awake at night like the rest of you. Only been back to work 4 weeks on phased return and have been signed off. Tuesday 13th is operation day hope it is the end of it then. Has anyone else experienced such a tough time and finally got to the finishing post.

Hi Jay, My one and only surgery has been successful where the surgeon fixed the bone spur, cuff tear, and the frozen shoulder in one hit.  I had 9 weeks of physical therapy and now I am 4 months out and feel great. I have compete ROM now.  I live in the states so I can't really give you the name of my great surgeon who only operates on shoulders but he also writes textbooks on shoulder surgery but he is the greatest!! I wish all of you well but it sounds like the NHS system doesn't really know what they are doing over there. I can't imagine living with the pain that all of you have to deal with.

Hi Lambchop, Really please to read your experience, which gives hope to others. It is intersting how peoples experience goes from 1 operation to 3. J93246 has just had 3rd op and lives in the states.  I had 10 weeks of NHS, and then went private. So all my shoulder surgery was in the private sector. It is so easy to knock our NHS but I had spinal surgery last Feb of which I could not have had done privately due to the scale of the op etc. So the NHS has served me well with ref to my spine It's just the waiting time to get to see the consultant and then the constant waiting up to the operation.

The good thing about this forum it gives people hope when the pain takes over there lives so to speak. Your experince and information will be invaluable  to people on this forum. Keep well and keep posting to help others. Best Wishes
