frozen shoulder not sleeping

Hi all of you out there, Now I really understand constant pain and I really sympathise with you all. When I was first diagnosed it meant nothing to me I was going on holiday to a hot country and thought it would right itself. I cannot afford to stay off work, but am drugged up to the eye-balls but that does not cover the pain, I am not able to do anything I planned and have very sleep interupted nights. I am waiting to see a Surgeon , the Physio said that there was nothing they could do - I lost over 50% movement from the start, so the pain, the longevity of this condition combined makes it all very gloomy. So all the best to you fed-up people out there, I just hope that you can have a comfortable night and get some sleep.

Hi. Thank you for sharing. Have you been looking for alternative natural therapy. I know a few people who were suffering from frozen shoulder where showering requires someone to help. No drug worked for her and surgery was next on list but thankfully she tried something that helped her with her pain and doesn't need surgery. If you are looking, i can get more information from her.

Hi everyone,
I am suffering OMG pain with a 'frozen shoulder' have had an x ray and no bone injuries or calcification but how do we actually know it's a frozen shoulder and not something else? Like many of you I have been given various pain killers which make me feel like an alien! Can someone please outline the symptoms along with drug free things they have tried that give some relief?
Many thanks
Lyn

Hi Lydia
Have you considered the distension procedure ? It's amazing the difference I had it done yesterday and cannot believe the contrast , I'm out of pain and my movement is improving by the hour , start my first physio today and I'm feeling very optimistic.
Take care

Hi everyone of my fellow frozen shoulder group , I had a tennis elbow op and was in a cast for 4 weeks. I started physio immediately after , after the 3rd gruelling session I started to develop shoulder , shoulder blade , neck and arm pain , pain that just got gradually worse by the hours , after screaming at my consultant to please take my arm off , he sent me for a MRI scan and revealed my shoulder was frozen , he gave me a steroid injection, that has eased the pain in my shoulder , however the pain in my arm is like nothing is ever experienced ( and I've given birth 3 times ) . I've been prescribed naproxen , they do not even touch it , can anyone suggest a pain killer that would at least take a little of the edge off , my whole life has been disrupted by this and I'm sick of myself talking about it , however unless you experience this pain and debilitating condition , no one understands how sickening the pain is. I have totally lost the use of my right arm , and I still do not understand why , thanks for reading

Hi Maggie,
I thought I had frozen shoulder a couple of months ago. The ER doc said that's what I probably had due to the unbelievable pain I was experiencing for 11 days non-stop & no sleep at all.
But after X-ray, it showed calcium deposits 'calcified tendinitis'
I know exactly how bad your pain is. I've had a child as well and the shoulder pain is so much worse than that.
So, 3 things that helped me: Tiger Balm, I swear by it! ( strong ointment that you put on the shoulder and surrounding area). It lessened the extreme-ness of the pain
And the ER doc gave me 2 shots of morphine, which dulled the pain for about an hour. (I wouldn't suggest the shots all the time plus no doc will give to you all the time anyways).
I used heat all the time and stopped trying to do anything with my arm . And it was my right arm too. I'm right handed.
My inflammation of the calcium deposits has stopped now and I'm back to normal but this will keep happening to me unless surgically removed...
I just wanted to give you a few things that helped me. Even though I didn't have FS I did have that pain. Apparently it's the same type of pain. I hope your FS goes away asap!!!
Good luck, take care

Hi Kelly
I've got a actiopatch from chemist , it's given me my first full nights sleep , and I've emailed a consultant that apparently has developed this wonder injection that releases the frozen shoulder so here's hoping , I'm willing to travel to London to have it done , thanks for your tips, I pray for the day this condition is in my past it's totally taken over my life , I spoke to a chemist over the wknd who suffered with it , he said omg the pain reduced me to tears many a day ,
So at least I know I'm not going mad

Hi Oliveria
The doctor is called Simon moyes , the injection is a combination , I read an article in the daily mail , so I've emailed him , as soon as I know anything I will post it straight away , I have an appointment with my consultant on Wednesday and I will be showing him the article , so sorry to hear you have been struggling for 5 years , what is going on , why has this condition gone by without any progress , since I've been diagnosed I'm shocked how many people have it or have had it ,
Ok so as soon as I hear back from mr moyes I will let the forum know
Please take care
