Frustrated

With All The Vertigo Issues I Have Been Having, two things are so frustrating to me because one minute you are feeling normal and the next your world is upside down with no notice.

My next frustration is my family. I am 62 years old and am retired but help my daughter and her husband raise their kids so they can follow their careers And take vacations all over the world.

When this bout of vertigo hits with no notice I am in bed for days. My family is not supportive and feel inconvenienced because they feel I am making it all up. Wow!!! Sorry I Got Sick 😞

I just needed to vent because I Know everyone here understands and I Appreciate All of you.. 😘

I understand only too well about 'family'! I no,longer speak to the only two members in this country(Rest live abroad). Not the reason i turned my back on them, but I know they never understood or tried to.  To be honest it sounds like they have had it,too, good from, you for too long and now you are an inconvenience as you cannot rely on being well,to,look, after their own family! i experienced that too, in another way whereby the time i did spend with one or the other ,,the whole, time it was 'about them'!

i decided i needed to take care of myself.

have you been to drs, consultants  etc about it yet?

Thank You For replying 😀 Regarding my condition, yes I am under a specialist for ear, nose and throat.

Regarding my family you hit it right on. They are totally selfish and don't even try to understand . I also go to counseling to be able to talk to someone .

This whole thing would make it a little easier if family took the time to understand that this illness is real and we are not making it up.

      Have A Wonderful Day.😃

Well Angie, you just take yourself now. Tell them your doctor has said you must not overdo things anymore, that you have to avoid stress and anxiety as this will exacerbate your condition. i  find if you mention it that way they have to be more accepting as a Professional, has said it, not you.,it's only a white one and is actually true anyway!

you can also,go onto the VEDA website, Vestibular Disorders Association (In the US). They have a mine of infornation on there,,along with stuff you cld use to,print out which explains what you are experiencing!!

Hi. That's so horrible!! If your children find its an inconvenience for them you being ill then they need to find someone else at a cost to look after their children. Vertigo,MAV,BV,BPPV all these are not something anyone would wish to fake in order to have a couple days off or in bed it's a horrible sometimes debilitating thing and I for one wouldn't even wish it on an enemy!!

Hope you find some comfort in having a chat on here as this site sometimes seems to be the only place where anyone understands what your going through!

I think as women, one of the best things we can do for ourselves is learn how to say "NO."...there are sweeter ways of doing it.."Im sorry, but I dont think that is going to work for me at this time", or "I'd love to help but I cant right now" or "this is not a good time for me"...  Now just to implement it with out feeling guilty!!  lol!

That is my problem I Can Never Say No Because then I Struggle With The Total Guilt

I will be work on using sweeter ways if saying no.

That is my problem I feel attitude and not feeling good I give it right back. 😞

My daughter has even asked my son in law to go to my appointments with me because she is sure I Am Faking.

I will try the kindness - Thank You

forgot to ask, what does, your dr say? If he or she sure what's going on? You  dont need your son there as that wld just confirm his wife's thoughts. not that that's true as we all know a gp has no,knowledge about. vestibular disease.

Back in December Of Last Year My ENT diagnosed me with Lybrithine. I have an appointment on Monday because this time around it got really bad. I got sweats rapid heart beating and felt like throwing up And of course the spinning plus I have that annoying ringing in my right ear.

Does this sound like something else? And the medication for the dizziness was not working it almost seemed like it made things worse.

The only thing that helps calm me down is ice packs and letting the ac hit my face.

Yes the medication made me worse too. I Refuse to take any of it now!the ringing is Tinnitus. ,i actually had that years before this happened, so not sure if it's connected, but. Lot of,people with this problem seem,to have it,too. But i do know when i feel, worse the tinnitus gets 'louder'.

i get you on the ice packs, am sitting here right now with one around my neck!  Make, sure you describe the symptoms as graphically as possible,to your ENT guy.,he should send you, by rights,to Vestibular therapy, so if you get the chance ask him about that!

Same here. The tinnitus gets worse when i get dizzier or the vertigo hits hard.

My symptoms come on as soon as I wake up and can last most of the day.

I am also wearing ice packs. 😁

The only thing I am taking right now is the steroid and something for a virus that I am suppose to take 5 times a day.

I will be asking lots of questions and asking for some other treatment or therapy.

Thank you Have A Great Day

They gave me steroids twice. Did nothing. Write your questions down. If your having a bad day , you may forget some. Same if you go to therapy. Tell them all the details. Write them down if you have to as well. The more info they have, the better they can treat you. They can adjust your therapy to help you better by the info you give them. If it makes your dizziness way more intense. Tell them. They need to know so it doesn't make you worse. They started out on me with to much. She had to back it off a little and slow down. Made me sick twice. Even ENT said you have to do the treatment but can't push it to hard. Good luck. Hope it works out for you.

I am keeping a journal on my daily roller coaster.

I am going to ask him for everything possible because this bout really scared me.

Thank You so much for all your advise I truly appreciate it.

I will let you know what he says.. 😀

Even the simplest detail. Which way you roll over in bed or turn your head makes you dizzy. Helps doc and therapist especially. Good luck. Yw
