fusing....can we reverse this?!?

Have any of you come up with a solution to prevent and reverse fusing? I am particularly concerned about the clitoris area! It is fusing up really quickly! I never noticed it until 6 months ago. Can this be reversed? I know Dr. Goldstein can do an operation to do that, but I don't think that is in my future.

Thank You!!!!

THank you for all the responses. I have tried the coconut oil and the bicarbonate of soda. Both seem to be helping with the pain and uncomfortable feeling. I haven't notice a change in fusing, but it is early. I imagine this will take time.  I am going to try the aloe too. If I don't get some results and relief soon, I am going to have to change my diet too.

I have to say this fusing really happened fast. All looked fine in September, but now it is entirely changed! I guess I should have been keeping a closer eye on it.

My fusing happened fast as well.  Almost overnight.

Hello...I am seeing more than one reference to fusing happening overnight and that is adding to the already stressful worrying that goes with this condition...I would like to ask is there any sort of sign that fusing is about to occur? Are there any clues that a change is imminent? Now I worry that I will go to bed fine and wake up totally fused together. Is that the way it will be?

No Patricia that will not happen. You keep the ointment up to the spots where there are white patches. You need to be vigilant to avoid or control fusing. It is usually gradual and happens when an area is accidentally missed. Keep your appointments with whoever is helping you manage your LS and you will keep on top of it.

Thank you so much for the reassurance. I already feel as if I think about the condition of my bottom way too much. This LS is not something that slips out of my mind ever ... it just does not go away. Every bathroom visit is a reminder and every twinge or itch is a reminder!Btw...April 3 my husband and I arrived home around 10 pm to find about a dozen huge fire trucks on the street in front of our house...my husband's work shop was burned to the ground and the entire side of our house close to that was burned...roof gone...all inside destroyed. We have been living in a motel room ever since until we can move in to temp house for several real months at least. Can anyone say "stress"???

I meant to say for several months...I am typing on my tablet since even our computer may be damaged by smoke acid. Sigh. However all 10 of our indoor cats are OK except for traumatized nerves....

Wow  Patricia you are having a tough time. I think that fusing is the last thing to worry about- However do keep up with the ointments and moisturisers and what ever else you find helps. 10 cats now THAT is a lot of cats!! i am pleased they are all OK. You must be heart broken- but if no one was injured That is A Good Thing

Do you know what caused the fire? Can you recover any of your possessions?

My heart go out to you

      Take care

      Sue

Patricia, if I would have known at that time what I know today, the fusing overnight would not have happened.  It was at the beginning of my treatment and all I had was a tube of glob.  And I wasn't told how to use that in a precise way.

The other day I watched some of the pictures I took after my dilation procedure.  All was covered in a white film of some sort, with a forced opening so I could urinate again.

Baking soda baths and rinses and after that coconut oil applications became my weapons at that point.  At first I thought there was something with my eyesight, but the white was indeed gradually disappearing.

It will never totally become as before, but I'm content to see how far I have come.  LS remains LS.  As long as there is no real cure, this will have to do.

Stressful alright.  Try to keep up with LS treatment in spite off.  Especially now.

Hello and good morning....I am surprisingly calm, especially in view of the enormalty...is that a word?....of the situation. About half our possessions are gone or ruined. Not only were there a dozen firefighters all over the house but mostof the roof was destroyed and it was pouring rain in a severe thunder storm. And I am one of those who makes people remove shoes be entering my house! the fire inspector can't be positivebut workshop may have been struck by lightening. One of our daughters is keeping all 10 cats until we can keep them back with us. I had an art studio with many many jars of paintsbrushesjars of medium etc etc and that makes me so sad that my different paintings etc are ruined. But I suppose I have to let it go. Now about LS...I will be careful to keep under control. My diet has been horrible as we are in a motel room 11 days now and only eating carry out etc. Oh and chocolate. 😞

I think you mustn't be too calm....go and go sometime away from people and yell your head off....

the enormity is huge and how dreadfully unlucky to be hit with lightening...perhaps it is time to go and buy a lottery ticket...?

      you are amazingly brave

where are you?the thunderstorm doesn't sound as if it is in the UK

I thank you for all the kind words and thoughts....we do not live in the UK....We live in the Smoky Mountains in Western NC...USA apparently lightening struck the workshop which is not far from the house and the fire rapidly jumped to the roof of our house...our town has a voluntary fire debt and it took about 15 miss to gather all firefighters. 6 rooms along that side of house destroyed....rest of house smoke damage. New subject: thank all for reassurance about sudden fusing...I will continue to be very careful and stick to my steroid...emu and coconut oil....OH! This is totally embarrasing...when the crew came to collect all our clothes they found my dial at or hidden in a stack of clothes....if I had remembered it at all I could have tucked it away in the few things I was allowed to remove on my own!

so sorry to hear about this fire patricia...and that you left your dil at or ... behind!

least you haven't lost your sense of humour!!

did someone return it to you? That you knew they found it??

Oh wow! It would have been mortifying if someone tried to return it I would have insisted it belonged to the returner. Our insurance pays for every single item in the house to be taken away and cleaned then stored until our house is repaired....now I'm wondering what area of their warehouse is labeled for smoke damaged dial a tors and just how many boxes of that particular item are in storage?

tee hee ...could be a high count!   will have to take this into consideration with some kind of strategy!!

But it could be worse if  resorted to carrying it round in my hand bag...not that i've got a hand bag anymore!!!

So sorry...sounds like you have other matters on the top of your stress list! But you sound like you are on top of things and have managed to maintain a sense of humour.  Fires are so violent.  I also lost all my drawings a few years ago.  But in some way it is freeing too.
