Gall stones

Hi everyone, so last weekend had horrendous pain in right side of stomach just below boobs, was violently sick along with it assuming as pain was so horrendous. Went to see the gp who is requesting a scan and did blood tests there and then. Said it could possibly be gall stones. He rang me the next day with the blood results to say that I had raised liver levels. Has anyone else experienced raises blood levels with gall stones?!

Has got me rather worries and still waitin on scan. I've had a few more nights with awful pains and others have been pain free (thank god) also have a dull ache in the day time and is uncomfortable just walking. Just interested to hear what everyone else has experienced.

I have pre op tomorrow smile

I have been waiting since I was refered in october.

Walking is OK, I am having a lot of gas pain half an hr after eating lately again, havent had that for months! The rib ache, like something stuck is more annoying than anything, it is worse sat in the car, I wiggle around and when sat on a chair I have to almost lie at times, then other times its fine and I dont feel it.

Did anyone have inflamed liver as a result?

So I finally have my ultrasound for tomorrow. Was anybody told the results there and then or did you have to wait for gp to get in touch?!

    Hi Fiona

I got my results a couple of hours later. Had the scan, then told to wait in triage. Surgeon came and said I'd need cholecystectomy and they'd contact me, but I ended up back in hospital the following week after a bad attack and jaundice. That was last October and didn't have surgery until February. You get used to being a patient patient with gallstones!!

you certainly do get used to being a patient, patient smile

I finally had my pre op yesterday ( been sick since June and refered in october to the surgeon, who I only got to see last month for the first time!) and my surgery is 31st july, so another wait sad

I woke up with rib pain today and nausea before I have eaten and my stomach pain after food is increasing. But yep just wait, youll be fine! is all I get.

Just to mention when I saw the surgeon I mentioned I felt nauseous in the morning so I had an investigation in my tummy.

Hi, I have already had scans and cameras, top and bottom smile they have ruled everything out, other than gallstones. My mum also got constant nausea with her gallstones, so likely its the same.
