I have got gallstones and waiting for my op now but tried eating porridge this morning for my breakfast but could not eat it due to the pain. then after I took my tablets I went to the toilet to be sick. Would the Doctors get me in any sooner if I can't eat but still able to drink

hi guys, sorry not been in touch but on M onday I ended up phoning for an ambulance and spent the day in hospital, only to be told that there was no surgoens to do my operation and if I decided to go home that they would keep a window open for me till the next day in case I had to return for some reason. When I got home that night everything that I ate and drank, I was bringing it straight back up again. So on Tuesday I went back to hospital and had my gallbladdert removed yesterday Saturday 21/6/14 and then today Sunday 22/6/14 I was discharged and now hopefully on the road to recovery

Wow, how are you feeling now? that was so terrible that you had to go through so much. Did they find that a stone was lodged or just a really sick gallbladder?

I sure wish my surgery was all over

Feel better and heal fast Debbie

      keep us updated

Excellent . Remember you will have pains from the gas they inflated you with for 2 or 3 days.. Then I felt fantastic for a few days ..then felt tired and bit rough for 4 weeks guess that was healing ..then felt great !!!

Rest dont do anything physical for 6 weeks. I swept the kitchen floor after 5 days and wished I hadn't felt like I had lifted a sack of spuds. Regretted that .. Relax now heal and be cautious with what you eat for a few days. Then start experimenting ..like learning to eat again. Foods you haven't touched for years ... So pleased smile

      Sally,

Your results really help me get prepared for this surgery. Ugh, 5 weeks and counting but I'm on a waiting list too.

#cant wait to get out of this pain.     ( oh wait, I don't do Twitter, ha)

I am addicted to hoovering ... I got a cleaning lady for 5 weeks to clean my house from top to bottom ... After 3 weeks I thought stuff it I feel ok and I did. So mid week I hoovered through. I ached ..for 3 days not awful but just felt like I had been in a fight ... Lol .. I was moaning when climbing the stairs etc .. My hubby was why are you aching ..?  I confessed... Got told off ... And on strict orders to not lift or Hoover as when you Hoover you use your abdominal muscles ... Sadly now 4 months later .. I can clean, Hoover and lift with no back lash of aches... So enjoy the chance to rest. And I put 14lb on in 3 months just stuffing myself !

it was so much fun to eat food and not have pain .. Not feel nauseous all the time . smile

so now on a diet sad

And I can't eat rich fatty meat like ribeye or bacon .. Well I can but I just feel burpy and bilious it's nothing on gallbladder pain or sickness. It's queasy and slight ache on right side .. I sleep with it waking occasionally to burp. And take a gaviscon. I don't think I produce enough bile without a gallbladder to digest fatty things ... But I can eat fruit ,tomatoes etc with no heartburn no gastritus ... Excellent. I think some are left with a constant  drip of bile from the liver after op that is a little too much and they get diarrhea and I have a little less bile . Which I am happy with as I always had an acidic tummy ...

well as my op was less than a week ago, I dont feel too bad. Still struggle to walk 10 mins while I walk my dog home and thankfully she don't pull but I just take my time but when I get back then I know that I have walked so just trying to take it slowly and not lift anything heavy or if I do then like you I get told off by the poeple that care about me. I feel able to walk untill I take my tablets and then when I get up to walk anywhere, I feel doubled up and unable to walk. Is this how you was on tablets?

    Hi Debbie

So sorry to hear about your pain. I would initially go to your doctor and ask  to be moved forward on the waiting list. If this is not successful just go to A&E when you get cholic and that will get things moving.  Am sure you don't like the idea of doing this but it was the only way to get my op. done.  I would have been stuck on omeprazole for life if It was up  to my G.P.  Good Luck and get well soon.

I have only just joined this forum and did not read your other posts.  Maybe they gave me a lobotomy by mistake.  Wishing you well.
