Going to take 75mg Dosulepin for anxiety - Experiences?

Hello

I am currently coming off Mirtazapine as the Doctor has prescribed me Dosulepin. I seemed to be dizzy and the anxiety on mirtazapine seemed worse after 4 months on them ! I am no longer depressed tho.

I have tried Citalopram previously and had such a nasty reaction to the first tablet (panic, sweats, didn't sleep for 3 days) that the Doctor said they didn't agree with me.

He has prescribed me 75mg of Dosulepin, I guess I am anxious about taking them and if I will still get to work okay. Do they help with the anxiety and sleep issues? Its a mone field when your anxious about taking meds!! :?

Thank You for your answers

I have been taking dosulepin for 15 years . After trying ssri's, all of which made me feel 100 times worse, my doctor ran out of options so sent me to see a psychiatrist. He prescribed me dosulepin 150 mg per night and within 2 weeks of taking them I felt as if someone had turned the light on! It was amazing I felt normal again. I brought the dose down to 75mg after a couple of years but couldn't go any lower. I was happy to stay on them for the rest of my life. I hadn't had another episode until recently so went to the doctor who refused to increase my dose as it has been found to cause heart problems in some people. My heart is fine but still no joy. They made me try sertraline (ssri) and slowly come off dosulepin, which I knew would make me feel worse, and it did. Saw another doctor who allowed me to stay on the 75mg of dosulepin and try 15mg of mirtazipine which I am trying now. It is giving me headaches and tremors which kept me up last night. I will give it a week and if it is still the same I am going back to the docs and insist they increase my dosulepin. If they say no I will insist on seeing a psychiatrist again. I have been on the sick for 9 weeks so far and have been given another 6 weeks to try the mirtazipine. If they had increased my dosulepin at the start I probably would have only been off for 2 weeks. Why don't doctors listen to their patients who know what is best for them.
