Hi has anybody got anything good to say about venladex (venlafaxine) 75mg ? I'm trying to come off mirtazapine because of massive weight gain and my doctor has prescribed me with venladex 75mg , just seem to read horror stories about this drug , there must be some positives ?

Any info would be great thanks 😃👍

I've found it OK as long as I don't miss a dose, in which case everything goes to hell in handbasket very quickly LOL... on 225mg atm, plus 250 Lamotrigine... Doc added Mirtazapine but it's actually the latter that has caused me problems (even after 1 dose)!  Shakes, dizziness, extreme tiredness and that's on 15mg! eek

I have had amazing success and a complete life turn around since being on venlafaxine. I recently started to reduce very slowly off my medicvation with the intention of getting pregnant. It has gone well will little to no side effects. I reduced from 75mg to 37.5 mg over 3 months - so slow means slow. I'm very greatful for this drug and will be going back on eventually.

Hi, I take 300mg of Venlafaxine, and have done so for a number of years. For me, it's been the best anti depressant I've ever been on. I've tried so many drugs. It really is a case of finding the right drug for you. I can say I lost a substantial amount of weight after changing over to Venlafaxine, without trying. Please give it a good go as if it's right for you, you'll never regret taking it. Do let me know how you get on. All the very best. H.
