Hi,
I'm really sorry, I'm afraid I personally are unable to help you, but was wondering if you could talk to your Care worker, maybe they can go with you and try to explain how thing are. Or speak to your GP, maybe they can do a letter for you to show at the Job Centre .
There are other people on here who I'm trust will be able to help, someone will answer you soon I'm sure.

That's good, hopefully she will be able to help.
I don't know much about D.I.D. but I was listening to someone on the television yesterday and he was saying that people with mental health problems in general, are having to fight for help and it can take a year or more. I think this is totally unacceptable, I had a severe mental health breakdown some 15 years ago, funnily enough it was stress from my job that caused it and my job was a Care Manager in the Mental Health Team!!
I was lucky and was able to get help and I think it's totally necessary to get help quickly particularly when it comes to the mind. I hope they get some help for you soon.

I have to agree with you on that.
When I was very poorly back in 1995 and even though it is a realtively small town, they had built an attached block to the town hospital specifically for Mental Health. It had everything, consulting rooms, gym, gardens etc etc . I used to live there Monday to Friday 9 while 5 as it was the only place I felt safe.
Staff (OT's, CPN's, doctors & consultants) were always there throughout the day.
I don't know what I would have done if that wasn't there. I 'lived' there from 95 - 2004!!!
Now, it is a walk in centre for minor injuries - the mental health unit disappeared when they 'brought in' care in the community.
Thank God that it was there when I needed it.

Hi what is D.I.D? Go for the interview and made sure you are on time as they can sanction you these days easily. When you speak to them make it clear that you have this illness and ask to speak to the disability advisor.
Then (check with them first) get a letter from your doctor stating the type of job you can do and how many hours are feasible. This should give you some protection. They will keep this on file and it will form part of your Jobseekers agreement.
I worked in a Jobcentre for a while and the staff are not monsters - they are trying to get you back into work and they will help you as much as possible. Do bear in mind though that they have to follow the rules and instructions so don't argue with them, and get them onside. Ok? Get them on your side and they will be a lot more understanding and nice to you. They are only human and it is a very difficult job. If they didn't follow the rules they would be disclipined and lose their jobs. Good luck. x

HI, Something dont ring right by here in what you say. ( Get THEM ON YOUR"E SIDE) & ( IF THEY DIDN"T FOLLOW RULES) Does that mean you have to PLEASE PLEASE ME HO YE or you will not be on my side. Also why would you be disclipined and lose your job? Ta.

What it means is that the front line staff have to follow the rules. They don't have the power to change them or bend them for you. If the advisors don't follow the rules as laid down by the Government and Civil Service then they would be disclipined and could be dismissed.
The rules are as they stand so there is no point arguing or complaining to the staff about them, or getting aggressive. The best thing is to always be polite and understand this. It doesn't meant you have to be 'PLEASE PLEASE ME HO YE' whatever you mean by that... x

Hi BJ64,
You will find we have literature available on this website all about DID disorder. I noticed it is a condition that is treatable but can't curable, which is a shame, but my condition is the same, I've been on medication for over 30yrs now, and injections every 10 weeks!
https://patient.info/health/an-introduction-to-dissociative-identity-disorder
https://patient.info/doctor/a-brief-guide-to-working-with-dissociative-identity-disorder
You will find this link invaluable regarding DID and links to many other resources on other sites.
https://patient.info/doctor/personality-disorders-and-psychopathy
You really need to point out the aforementioned links I have given you, to your Doctor. The reason being is doctors use this website for most information, my own GP uses it.
To retrieve these links from Google you need to type the following in to Google Make sure you include all the quotes, this causes Google to fetch links to content on this website only.
Enter on Google: "Dissociative identity disorder?" + "patient.info"
It may look a bit odd, but it is how you recall specific content from certain websites. It is classed as a logical expression. But if you give this to your doctor, they can find all the above links grouped together, making it easier for them and yourself.
Hope this helps you!
Regards,
Les.
