Glad to hear the PMR behaved itself and also the NHS,there do seem to be a lot of horror stories on this forum. Lovely news all round.
Take care of yourself won't you? Green granny

Just seen Jake's latest progress report and so glad to hear that the pain is under good control - well done him. Do hope he's well enough to be out of ICU soon......and then home beckons! MrsOxx

But the problems arise if you have something like we have where we are, at first glance at least, uninteresting. There's nothing to get your teeth into, nothing dramatic - \"ho hum, another LOL complaining about her rheumatics, what does she expect at her age?\". It's a culture that has arisen over the last 20 years (geriatrics wards used to be quite good for their purpose, horrid though they could be) and the whole of \"general medical\" became a refuge for LOLs and LOMs who had no other place to go after the homes were closed, blocking acute beds and generating a feeling of resentment, almost. Add in the practice of individual referral - you can only be under one consultant in hospital and have to be referred sideways rather than the \"team\" aspect that used to be the rule, and only one side of a disease is looked at and so things are missed. Sadly, it's likely to get worse as the only general practitioners are the ones in the community, no specialists in hospitals for the difficult and complex cases.
