    Hi Lizzie-Ellen,

I am so happy for all of you 8) :D :magic: ....it must be such a relief to the whole family to have Jake out of ICU.

He will soon not need the morphine and he'll be flying around before you know it......probable in search of the \"fit\" girls

Lots of love & hugs  :rose: ,

:D Can you believe it, Jake is home, sat on his bed with a mate, stuffing Hot Cross Buns as though nothing happened!! Mum and Nannie? Shattered but overjoyed.

Love from a very relieved Lizzie Ellen :D

Lizzie Ellen - told you he wouldn't be bothered didn't I? Kids are horrible in that sense - half dead one minute, sitting up and demanding food the next and bouncing around as if nothing has happened 3 days later! And mums and grans are developing a million grey hairs a minute - I can't get any more luckily - and chewing their nails to bits.

So glad you've got him home as it removes such a massive dollop of your stress. And reduces the likelihood of complications due to infections and things.

Yippee! :cracker: :bubbly: (for mum and gran)

That is just wonderful news Lizzie Ellen and, yes, I can believe his bounce back capbilities. Hope the Hot Cross Buns went down well. :nahnah: :donut: :rainbow:

My \"little\" sister, aged 65, was almost given up by our doctor when she had pneumonia as a toddler. Just after the war so she was nursed at home and no modern drugs. Having been at death's door for what seemed

an age she suddenly sat up and asked for a boiled egg. Mother hesitated not being too sure if this was ok whereupon she said\" but you can't starve a poor little girl\" That did it. She got her egg!

Poor mum and Nannie; you're probably in need of TLC more than he is now. Can you believe it's only a week since his op?

Thanks to everyone for their good wishes. The poor old boy hit a bit of a brick wall today sad After the excitement of coming home and hoards of (univited!) visitors he was very emotional today. I may have mentioned that he's steroid dependent due to a congenital problem (CAH - ring any bells Eileen?) and was on a 24 hour infusion for several days. He started back on oral steroids on Sunday (60mgs) down to 40mgs by Tuesday and back to his normal daily dose (25mgs) yesterday - he needed to do this to stabalize his CAH but its given him a bit of a jolt along with the normal post-op down. So we had a few tears today (very unusual for Jake) and then a long legged lovely called Summer (aged 14!) came to visit and as if by magic our normal positive boy was back on top form. Amazing what a little romance can do isn't it :smooch: :smooch:

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter Weekend :chick: :choc:

Typical!!!!! Doesn't matter what the medical problem is in teens - the other hormones still kick in! Poor mum - don't envy her at all   Of course an iv gives a nice even blood level and then switching back to oral turns it all into a swtichback ride.

Sometimes I worry about me - you know, when someone writes the acronym and I know what it is   Obviously the sign of a misspent youth

    have a wonderful Easter
