    Tekin ,

i have Graves' disease but have been Euthyroid now for over a year and i'm am feeling very well indeed.  When I was diagnosed , after feeling extremely ill for a very long time , my Symptoms were so bad , all i wanted to do was lie down and ....  die !

Anxiety was so bad i thought i was going Mad ,   i felt as though i was going downhill in a car which was driving at 100 miles an hour, with NO BRAKES  .

    I was terrified of .. everything .

My head , neck and chest shook from within.  My hands were trembling constantly

heart palpitations,  my voice was quivering and i was prone to choke easily,

My toenails fell out and finger nails were shredding

    .

my body hair came out and my head hair I was losing fast ... strangely.. no eyebrows.

my tongue  was scalloped round the edges and the skin on front of my shins were shins were  like fish scales.

I sweated profusely all day every day i couldn't sleep for more than 2 hours.

THe sweating caused a fungal rash which drove me insane .

I am telling you all this because I want you to know that many of us on here have been in your shoes... we have suffered badly with Overactive Thyroids  whether Graves' disease or and other type .

many of us have been driven to have Radio active Iodine  treatment  or Surgery .

I do not have goitre, nodules or cancer ... so i decided to NOT to go that way for a cure or for a way of controlling my Graves.

Once I had successfully taken Carbimazole for months ... not years and tapered the dose from 20mg ... then to 10mg  and then down to 5 mg ... my blood results became very quickly normal...

I could have left it at that ... but i decided that my Poor Thyroid Gland had been wrecked by my Immune System attacking it ... so i decided to replace all that had been  taken from it ....  ie  vitamins , minerals and nutrients .

My way of thinking was that if i replaced all of these vital ingredients, that i would appease my immune system and get it to calm down and since 80% of our immune systems are in our Gut, then that is the place to start treating it.

    Thyroid patients are often very low in  B12,  B1,  B6 ,  D3 ,

(  K2 should be taken with D3  wink

Magnesium, Iron , Vitamin C, .... any very Imoortant    ACIDOPHILUS VERY HIGH DOSE )

...... and a few others  ... Please do not think that this is not a necessary thing to do ...  to supplement !

It is vital for your  recovery ..

The supplements should be bought in high doses and should be very good quality

Vitamin B12  should always be melted under the tongue ( Sublingual )  as it is absorbed into the bloodstream there  and not into the gut where it is not so fast acting or successful.

Ask your doctor to do a full Vitamin and mineral panel to see what you are low in.

get copies of all your results and keep them filed  at home.

The very best of Luck to you.... keep us up to date with your steps.
