Groin area obsession

Hey guys, first time i'm posting on this page (or any anxiety-related page for that matter). I'm a 23-year old male diagnosed with GAD. Lately my mind has been occupied with the pelvic area, since i suddenly developed an urge to urinate, accompanied by a pressure in the bladder. I did tons of daily research without finding much reassurance from forum/discussion sites, which in itself made my anxiety go trough the roof, since this type of identification is usually where i find relief and helpfulness (the reason why i'm on this forum right now, lol). The symptoms have since become an on/off type of thing, which assures me that this is plain, good ol' anxiety. Today i got out of bed, and as soon as i woke up, i experienced a spasm in my groin/prostate area, that feels like the twitch you would normally get in your arm, leg etc., only this time in "that" area. It hasn't stopped since, and the lack of info only makes it worse. Basically, i just wanted to know if anyone else have experienced this type of thing? The fact that it's in the groin/prostate area, makes me suuuper anxious, and my occupied mind towards it only increases, as well as my state of panic. Have a lovely day

Hi.. How are you?
I know what you are talking about, I have the same thing but I am a woman.
Sorry about my English but I don't know the name of that "cannal" where the poop goes for women. But I have sometimes spams and twitchs.. Some times painfull and sometimes painless. When I tell this to people, they look to me in a weird way. You are the first one I know have the "same" thing.
But normally it goes away.. I have it from times to time...

Could've been better, to be honest. I'm thankful that the constant feeling of pressure in the bladder has improved, but know my mind is constantly occupied with random spasms in the prostate area. They only last for a couple of second and vary in frequency, but it still really takes a lot of enjoyment out of the day, to the extent where I've cancelled a weekend with the lads. I'm just so fed up, to be honest. I'm from Denmark myself, so my english isn't perfect either. Your reply took the edge of the anxiety though, and i thank you for that. Glad to know i'm not the only one suffering from the cryptical communication from an anxious body and mind. I hope your coping okay, and that your able to deal with these spasms! My best regards.

Heey Dennis!!! I'm glad to know you are better after reading my answer.
Let me tell you something, these spams are the least of my problems. I have a severe pain on my face for the past 7 months. Burning sensation on my eyelids, eletrical shocks in my face. I thought it could be Neuralgia but aparently it is not. Or according to my exams everything is okay. But because of the anxiety I am having severe pain and teeth grinding to the point my cheeks are very exhausted and having cramps. Not so great. This is my post: https://patient.info/forums/discuss/facial-pain-due-to-axiety--629804
Try not to worry about the spams.. When they happen to me I find funny and try to laugh about it.
I know the feeling of having your mind constantly thinking about that to the point you imagine having a cancer or tumor.
Can I ask you, if your spams are painful?
One advice: don't let this take over. Don't let this affect you. Don't cancel any plan. Don't be afraid or it will eat you inside.
Because of my pain I almost cancel a trip to Japan (I'm from brazil btw) with everything paid because of the fear of the pain. But in the end I did travel and ended up being ok.

Hey Jenny, thank you for your lovely, reassuring message.
I'm sorry to hear about your condition, i can only imagine how much exhaustion and panic you must go through. I hope everything will be better ASAP, and that your results will bring your mind at ease.
My spasm are rarely painfull. The last couples of days have been much better, and i've been able to move the constant focus away from cramps/spasms, which have made me almost symptomfree. I guess laughing and implementing a humorous perspective really did help, like you suggested!
The fact that you chose to travel is really motivating. You strike me as a very strong person, and i find that very inspirational.
Thank you for your time and insight - it really did have an effect, and i'll make sure to remember your advice when days get tough.

If you were quite a bit older sixty years you could worry about your Prostrate, I am sixty seven and it is an old mans problem.
Go and see your GP and be checked over. Let me know how you get on. Stop researching.
Generally I understand ?? you need to visit the toilet at least five times a day.??

I know it's an old mans thing, haha. I guess that's why it gets me in a worrisome state of mind.
The last few days have been much better, and i've been realising how much the symptoms vanish when i've had a good nights sleep, and have been prioretizing a positive mindset. Just goes to show that it is in fact anxiety, and not anything i need to get checked with my doctor.
I've had on/off days with frequent urination and bladder pressure, which have also vanished over the last couple of days. That fact that it's an on/off thing just proves to me, that it's a mind over matter type of incident.
Thank you for your advice. Much appreciated!
