H Pylori three week treatment

Hi its been some time now but today my doctor rang me to confirm I have H Pylori and she also has prescribed a course of Lansoprozole and anti biotics for the next three weeks.
Should I be concerned that it is a course of tablets for three weeks

Hi. In the UK the first line treatment is triple therapy (2 antibiotics and ppi) for 1 week. If this fails then quadruple therapy for 2 weeks.
If still infected (unusual) then you get tested for specific sensitivity under a specialist.
I had the week of triple therapy and it eradicated it. But be warned, the gastritis damage from the bug lasts for months after and you have to eat strict for some time. And your stomach will most likely be sensitve for years, maybe life (mine is).
Make sure you get a stool test 8 weeks + after your treatment to see if it's worked.
Like others have said on here, probiotics will help
allieviate side effects of the antibiotics. And keep taking them after the treatment but lower your dose.
There are certain natural remedies out there for h pylori eradication (certain herbs and teas). But these aren't as reliable as antibiotics and take longer.
I would advise antibiotics with probiotics. 3 weeks is a longer than usual time in my opinion, but if it gets rid of the bug then hurrah!

You're right about that. 3 months after treatment , still have pretty bad stomach problems. Great advise.
