Had a sore throat and notice small red bumps in the back of my mouth

So I had a sore threat around 7 days ago (got a cough afterwards, and a slight cold) and I checked my throat in the mirror with a light and i noticed small red bumps at the back of my mouth. This was the first time i've ever actually looked at my throat when sick so I don't know if this is a normal occurance. My sore throat has been gone for 3 days now, and I only cough a bit at night now, i'm mostly fine already just the lingering cough and very slightly runny nose but the red bumps are still there. I don't know if this is caused by the sickness or if I already had these before hand. Any idea what these are?

Same here. It's going on for two months for me now. I had a cold then I cough for a few weeks and then throat discomfort. It's most obvious when I try to swallow. I am going to see the ENT soon.

Did it look anything like this ?

had it nearly 4 weeks now! No other symtoms initially other than throat felt raw and feeling of something stuck in my mouth when I swallowed my spit and as if the spit didn’t go down.

then 3 weeks after the bumps appear I get cough, dry Chesty cough and headache and intermittant earache and sinus’s intermittently feel sore.

Is is it possible to get these swellings 3 weeks prior to feeling ill, I’ve had vaginal surgery in nov 2017 and has 2 very bad infections in the wound, so had a course of amoxicilllin and then keflex and metrodizole for the second one. Could it be that my immune system is just really low because of the prev infections and antibiotics and my body tried fighting the bug for 3 weeks and then couldn’t anymore?

My anxierty is at all time high as im worried sick I’ve some form of cancer with the doc not having a clue what it is and why their inflamed. Had one course of penicillin  2 weeks ago but did absolutely nothing, was prescribed this as first doc said I had a ver6 nasty throat infection! Lol appears not!

Hi, I got referred to ENT on a 2 week cancer referral ( in uk this is urgent appointment if theirs slightest chance something could be cancer - otherwise waiting list could be months ) anyway ENT had a look, put  camera up my nose and down top of my throat and they decided it was acid reflux! She said the tumour looking swelling where my tonsil used to be was leftover tonsil tissue which had swelled because of the acid coming up into My throat at night! And that the swellings we all lymph swellings because of this reflux! I was told to higher my bed an inch, keep taking the Omeprazole the doc had given me and gaviscon and try and sleep on my left if possible not right side! Also try and avoid ibuprofen or naproxen as these aggravate the stomach acid! She felt this acid reflux had been brought on by the three courses of strong antibiotics I’d had in December for an infection after surgery! Now a few months on, my throat looks no different, no worse but no better in terms of how it looks!

that good news was not cancer ... mine is exactly the same as yours on the edges near orange amigadalas, I suffered a severe sore throat a few days ago. Thanks for the reply and we have nothing serious.

Hi Debbie,  I have the exact same thing.  Your picture almost looks like my throat.  I have a round growth on my tonsil.  The back of your throat looks somewhat enflamed the same as mine.  Did the Dr. say this was also due to the reflux?  I also suffer from acid reflux.

I have an appointment with an oral pathologist on July 16th.  I'm worried sick about this.

Hi so how did you get on at oral pathologist love? All of mine was due to acid reflux burning my throat! I’ve still got the reflux and my throat still looks the same and ent said it might never go back to looking like it did. Just trying to manage the reflux with omeprazole and avoiding trigger foods and not eating late. X
