Had Gynecology appointment yesterday

i had my gynecology appoinment yesterday.

They are operating which I already knew before hand that was going to be the case but wasn't sure of how they were going to do it.

My CT scan shows the same as my ultra sound did but it's 11cms in CT scan. I said to him about it being 9cms on ultra sound and he explained thats because when they do

Ultra sound they push down which doesn't measure it well.

He is taking my case to the cancer specialist at a diffrent    hosiptail just to get them to double checked all scans and results as the CT scan shows a solid part to the cyst but the surgeon guy who I saw yesterday has said he believes that is most likely my ovary so the solid part he thinks On scan is my ovary. But wants to get it double double checked which I understand but that has caused me to worry now.

After he said about another hospital looking at it all I asked him 'are we looking at it being cancerous or a simple cyst?' And he has said everything so far is reassureing and he said that if a family member was me and in my situation with my blood results and scan results that he would be really reassured with it all so far which that comment did really help me a lot yesterday.

I had to have another blood test part of tumor markers but he said for that to be raised my other tumor markers would be raised to if that makes sense??

He has said ideally he wanted to do keyhole just to take cyst but has said he might have to do open surgery to take cyst and my ovary... why would he need to take ovary??

He will ring me in the next 7-10 days to let me know how they will do the op as calling me is quicker than writing a letter.

My op is booked for 26th Feb.

I'm really worried about this solid part.

What do people think? Has anyone had this before when they got cancer specialist to look and or the solid part has been there ovary??

I have been through this myself with scan after scan watching and waiting and then a MRI scan, they were very very concerned about my solid parts in my cyst and also mural nodules(another sinister symptom)i had no blood supply to cyst which was very reassuring they told me.after no change to cyst after 3 scans and 6 months they still wasn't sure so sent me for an MRI followed two days later with an appt with a gun/oncologist whc He cared me to death to the point I couldn't function,I was a mess.

I went for my MRI on the Monday and my appt with oncologist was Wednesday I was convinced they thought it was ovarian cancer,to my utter relief he went through the MRI with me in the Wednesday and it was confirmed by it as an endometrioma !!!! So please please do not Worry,my cyst had all the worrying signs and I was also diagnosed with deep infiltrating endometriosis,

    I hope

This has helped you and good luck you will be just fun I promise.take care Michelle xx

The surgeon has said everything is resureing so far and like I said he said if it was a family member in my situation that he would be resureed  which made me feel better.

I'm just worried because they getting someone else to look at it. My op is booked for 26th anyway and ether way it will be open surgery or key hole.

I'm worried about this solid part but the guy who I saw yesterday said ts most likely my ovary which is the solid part.

But all my bloods are all normal and ct scan showed same as utrla sound. The guy who I saw didn't seem worried.

But i am worried but I think I'm over thinking it all.

The most important thing he said is when he said that if it was a family member of his he would be resured with results so far.

But my tumor markers are within normal range so that's all good right??

Do you think my solid part could be my ovary? My cyst is 11 cms.

Hi holly i saw gynaecologist in October she said I had a large cyst and ordered ct scan after she got results she said she wanted a second opinion with oncology and gave me cancer specialist nurse support I was terrified however after oncology looked at scan they were happy there was nothing sinister . I had a hysterectomy 19th january due to my age im 54 and had been bleeding a lot I will get results in nxt couple of weeks but was told it looked a large but simple cyst try not to worry, bloods and all being ok is a good sign they have to look at worse case scenario im sure you will be fine xx

I'm only 23, bloods normal. The person who I saw Tuesday suspects the solid part to be my ovary.

But it's just the whole waiting.

I guess I have age on my side right?? Xx

I am sure you will be fine it is very worrying but bloods being good and your age are all good factors think positive xx
