Had Gynecology appointment yesterday

i had my gynecology appoinment yesterday.

They are operating which I already knew before hand that was going to be the case but wasn't sure of how they were going to do it.

My CT scan shows the same as my ultra sound did but it's 11cms in CT scan. I said to him about it being 9cms on ultra sound and he explained thats because when they do

Ultra sound they push down which doesn't measure it well.

He is taking my case to the cancer specialist at a diffrent    hosiptail just to get them to double checked all scans and results as the CT scan shows a solid part to the cyst but the surgeon guy who I saw yesterday has said he believes that is most likely my ovary so the solid part he thinks On scan is my ovary. But wants to get it double double checked which I understand but that has caused me to worry now.

After he said about another hospital looking at it all I asked him 'are we looking at it being cancerous or a simple cyst?' And he has said everything so far is reassureing and he said that if a family member was me and in my situation with my blood results and scan results that he would be really reassured with it all so far which that comment did really help me a lot yesterday.

I had to have another blood test part of tumor markers but he said for that to be raised my other tumor markers would be raised to if that makes sense??

He has said ideally he wanted to do keyhole just to take cyst but has said he might have to do open surgery to take cyst and my ovary... why would he need to take ovary??

He will ring me in the next 7-10 days to let me know how they will do the op as calling me is quicker than writing a letter.

My op is booked for 26th Feb.

I'm really worried about this solid part.

What do people think? Has anyone had this before when they got cancer specialist to look and or the solid part has been there ovary??

I know it’s scary but your not going to know what kind of cyst it is until they biopsy it during surgery and then sometimes the pathology takes 10 days to get a result.   So I would try not to think about it.   I know easier said then done.   I just had my surgery Tuesday I’m still in the hospital hopefully I will go home today.  He had to open me and said my cyst was hemorrhagic,  I had adhesions from endometriosis.   The hardest is all the rumbling from the gas.  First night was very painful but a lot better today minus the gas.   If your going to have open surgery make sure your doctor puts in an order for gas relief pills.   They are so strict in the hospital that unless the dr orders it,  they can not just give it to you.   I had to wait all night and In to the morning for them to just give me a gas pill.  They had trouble with me for bleeding,  my body wouldn’t stop,   But now they think I have Von Wildebrandes which your blood doesn’t clot.

They think mine is simple cyst from ultra sound and ct scan but I have a solid part which my surgeon believes it's my ovary.. our ovary are 2-3 cms and my cyst coming from my ovary cyst is 11cms.

All my bloods are fine including tumor markers but I am waiting for 1 more blood results to come back as my surgeon wanted a certain blood test on Tuesday when I saw him.

I am hoping they just take my cyst

But depending what cancer speclist say they might take my ovary... I'm wondering if they will take ovary just to be on the safe side. Xx

So because you’re young they will probably try to save the ovary and only remove the cyst, this way it doesn’t interfere with getting pregnant in The future.  But if they do  have to remove the cyst you still will have the other cyst for future children.   Also when they took more blood the other day, could it have been for a type and screen?? Sometimes  they need to check your blood type In case they need to give you blood during surgery.   Most of the time they do it as a precaution but never end up giving you any.  And like your doctor said he’s leaning that it’s going to be ok.   Also anytime they take anything out of your body they have to biopsy it.  And being that they are sending it for a second specialty lab should make you feel better that nothing is being missed

I'm not sure about the other bloods but I just called my gp and the results are normal. I think they were to do with tumor markers.

They will do keyhole if they just do the cyst by popping cyst and then taking it out or they will do open surgery if they take cyst and ovary.

But by the sounds of it that if my ovary is proven to be the solid part on my ct scan then that says to me that the cyst is well attached to my ovary, does that make sense?

      What do you think?
