Hi Tina and hi ladies......... well they're out, and I can report there was a moment of pure tugging and then they were gone,  quite surprised how hard surgeon had to pull, my daughter watched (I didn't) so I would say no pain in first toe, slightly sore the second however I did knock it a few days ago so it's been sore anyway, it was all over really quickly and definitely less painful than having the stitches out.......... putting my foot flat down feels really weird, not painful more numb, but immediately it's a relief, I think I am going to be ok, toes still sitting a little low but when I put pressure they do level up, he wants to see me in 12 weeks, and he's just said he's happy, so I guess I should be too.... I did have a little cry but not because of any pain, more emotional really.

It's not a pleasant thing to go through and there is definitely not a quick fix, my toes are still twice the size of my other foot but, I reckon we have success.......

Let me know how you all do, sure it's all going to be worth it for all of us in the end............ Regards Karen xxx

Hi hun...thanks for letting us all know how you got on...didnt sound too bad...im one of those that gets all worked up before theyve even touched me..but you have eased my mind a little....im guessing you still have lots of swelling then...how long were the pins...have you still to wear the shoe or have you put a normal shoe on...i had 2 3 4 5 toes done. .the one next to little one is still stuck up...just hoping time is what it needs...wishing you all the best and let us know how your getting on...tina

Just had the pins out today , 3 in left foot and two in right foot! I didn’t feel a thing! All 5 out in less than 30 seconds! I’m walking around almost normally and it’s great not to have my toes feel like mini kebabs! They anxiety and thought of what it will be like is definitely much worse than the actual  procedure

    Hi Tina,

Just wanted to say that I underwent surgery for PIPJ Fusion with the use of K-wires, on both feet on my fourth toe.

I get my dressings off in 10 days and the sutures will be removed then, slightly nervous about how my feet will look and I'm hoping it will all heal as it should be! The important thing I keep reminding myself is that it hopefully will all be worth it and my reasons for having the surgery done will be resolved.

    Take care,

    Kayleigh
