I have had a good day today the first in months, we are not putting our decs up until a few weeks due to Mike working!!!! and there is the fact of the new colour of tree I may change, still debating whether I will or not my favorite colour is purple ....... but I do not think it would go with a brown and cream decor somehow!!!! I have copper and silver so it seems to go with the room somehow????
Anyway I do hope you are all having a better day xxxxx
Hugs and kisses x

Glad u had a good day yesterday.
I used to have lilac and silver as my colours. My living room was lilac! Sounds weird but it was lovely.
Changed to cream and brown too...
Our colours are red and gold. Put the garlands up round the coving, and wreaths on the door etc with my singing santa in the middle..lol. I love it, nearly gave the postman a heart attack as its light activated. So if someone comes to the door...it starts singing we wish you a Merry Christmas. :D
Ian was shattered after his sleepover Sunday into Monday...so we`ll do the tree tonight.
Woke up this morning and all is white. Was snowing through the night. Main roads seem to have been gritted though so not so bad. Makes a change that the council are prepared this year... Usually have to dig our way out!
Hope everyone is ok.
Catch up with u all later.
Take Care

Happy Christmas to you too Ses, so glad you had a better day yesterday nine months is a long time to feel as rough as you have done!!
Where abouts are you Lindy, we have a promise of some snow this week but nothing yet. My son is 27, but still a kid as soon as it snows! He`s promised two little boys across the road to build a snowman with them.Quite nice of him actually as their Mum is very poorly.
On the DLA subject again, (I noticed Di has a doctor coming to visit her) my daughter is diabetic and receives a quarterly mag from Diabetes UK. In the latest issue they are asking parents to tell of their experiences on trying to claim DLA for their diabetic children, as it has come to their notice that it can depend on where you live as to whether you are successful or not!!!! What on earth has that got to do with anything?? You still need the same care whether you live in Land`s End or Scotland! Better get off my soap box or I shall go on all day and want to get my tree up if I can manage it!
Hope everyone has a reasonable day without too many problems.
Love Linda

I am like you Ses not got my tree up yet. Stewart on last day of shift today so hopefully get tree up in next couple of days.
Bet it looks nice with the snow Lindy today where you are! Although not very nice if you have to travel in it. We haven't got any snow here but was freezing overnight. Stewart had to put water on windscreen before he could to to work this morning about 6.30am. The sun is out here now lol but bet it is cold outside.
Happy Christmas to you all! Like you say Linda it doesn't matter where you live everybody should be entitled to the same care. Unfortunately the government and nhs people don't see it that way. Its all down to their budgets and money now. Well don't get me started to early in the day for me to have a rant when I haven't been up that long.
Feel better in myself apart from aches, pains and headache this morning.
Need to get a few things done today if I can.
Well take care everyone!

Well Linda talking of DLA, my representative sent me a letter this morning saying he can not represent me now at my next appeal due to cutbacks so I am gutted as I feel totally let down!!!! I think it is a lottery though whom gets DLA and so now I do not know what to do!!!!!
I think the last one was Di as she said that she was logging on to her sons PC, so Merry Xmas to you to Di xxxxx I have seen those black trees xxxx I would like a purple one but wouldn't go with the deco!!!!

Oh Ses, what a blow for you and just before Christmas too! Would Citizens Advice be able to help at all, don`t know much about what having a representative means? I`m convinced its a lottery in some way or another, I went to our local shop yesterday, (always walked before and thought nothing of it) in the car. There was me struggling to get out of the car and hobbling to the shop with my stick, when I saw a lady I know by sight (through working in the local school) who I know for definite gets DLA and has a motability car and she was trotting along there with no stick and no car in sight!!!! Ohhhh.... it makes my blood boil
Well must go for now as I have to get Ray ready for the doctors. We are going to find out what the Cardiologist had to say, aparently its a very long letter advising the GP as to what happens next! Am feeling a little apprehensive I have to say.
Well take care everyone, will talk later

I know off any people who claim DLA, and Im not saying theres nothing wrong with them....but, they galavant all over the place, do their garden, decorate ...u name it! I know DLA can be given for mental health problems also, (I used to fill the claims forms in for clients)...but I don`t believe these people have any of these issues. Or maybe Im being judgemental. Anyhoo....it does my head in!
Got the tree up the other night, so thats us all sorted.
Weather reports say severe snow....but nowt yet. Apparently its to be bad all over today. So stay in and be cozy!

I googled him last night and I am not happy, I am not going to go into detail but I am cheesed off as he had told a client to exaggerate her ailments which I think is outrageous, I know that you say how your bad days effect you but not to actually lie anyway, a long story.
Well Linda I do hope the Cardiologist can help Ray xxxxx It must be effecting you so much all this strain, bless you hun xxxxxx
Yeah Lindy I see people that have the DLA for example a couple have a DLA car down the road and not that I am predigest as such but this lady is German, living with her hubby, she digs the garden, runs to the car and he claims it too apparently and is able to spend his money in the pub? It is alright for some eh? Not fair on people that actually need the help!!!!!
Anyway I am again in pain today and with one thing and another I am stressed so thank you so much my dear friends for listening xxxxx I do hope you all have a better day pain wise xx so I will speak to you all soon xxxx
love and hugs xx

Hope you manage to pace yourselves and do what you have to do.
Regards DLA, on the surface I may look as though I don't need it when I am out walking in the woods with my little dog but looks are deceptive. You don't know what happens behind the front door. My legs work but my hands do not and I am unable to plan, prepare and cook a meal from scratch. We also only have a downstairs toilet and I suffer from vertigo and disorientation when I wake in the night and need to use the toilet so I have to have a bucket in the spare room, not very dignified. We are looking into moving house because of this. I also need assistance in unfamiliar places and a wheelchair or mobility scooter in shopping centres.
None of this is obvious to our neighbours so you just cannot tell

You`re absolutely right of course. Sometimes ailments are not evident.
The people Im referring to however, are at the bag....in other words, they`re ripping off the system. I know them. Not in friendship. Infact, I know at least 3 couples who are most definately shamming...they blatantly blab about it.
What gets to me is, how the hell can they pull the wool over these health professionals eyes? My father, who was ill for as long as I can remember had to do everything except jump through a ring of fire. He was granted DLA a year before he died.
Yes I agree that there are many people who do not have visual illness and absolutely warrant the benefit, but, there are many many who rip the system off.

linda hope u get on ok with ray at the hospital let me know xx
DLA.... oh i know a few people who get it and i can say they def not in pain everyday like we are.. they maybe have a illness but im sorry i cant think of any other illness that can make u feel like we do, im like most of u.. cant cook need help upstairs to the toilet ect.. my husband broke down to the disablility doctor telling him how hard he finds my illness while trying to work and look after me and our family( i was heartbroken listening to him) but... i bet i still dont get it...
I was looking at all my washing and ironing that needs done and after speaking to my husband i think we are going to find out if we can employ someone for a few weeks to help us, im not saying we have money as we def dont but.. we are not coping. that is why i was wanting dla to help us out not like alot of people who use it to socialise and enjoy themselfs.. sorry i know i shouldnt be bitter but i cant help it sometimes..
hope ur all organised for xmas im not and starting to panic but hey im sure i will find someone to help me get it all in..
speak to u all soon.. di xx

You know I was feeling quite down when I signed in here today and Di my good friend you made me feel so much better. thank you for your kind words, Ray has to change one of his tablets to help the heart beat stronger so he will be less breathless etc. Its one of these things that has to be built up slowly so we are back to the GP in a week for an assessment.
It would be lovely for you if you could get some help around the house. I often think if I could just get caught up with all the things I have to leave undone each day because of pain or fatigue I would find it less hard to keep on top of things. So good luck to you.
I also think DLA is so unfair, I know all about people having a \"hidden\" disability, my father, husband and my daughter all have this type of disability, but these are not the sort of people I am referring to nor I am sure is anybody else. When you have a child with a so called hidden disability and two or three children of the same age are diagnosed with the same condtion within a matter of a couple of weeks and one qualifies and the other two don`t it makes people very unhappy and also angry!
We could go on forever debating this benefit. I don`t know what the answer is or if we will ever get a solution. But its good we can get together and share our problems and views.
Hope you are ok too Ses and Tess. How did you get on at Baytrees, Tess, with Molly?

Not had time to come on last couple of days! Been busy busy busy!
Don't worry Di I am not organised if enough yet either you are not alone. What gets done gets done!
Been out too much last couple of days but other stuff has to wait.
I am pleased ray has some different tablets Linda will be much better once they kick in for his breathing. Can't be very nice to be really breathless all the while. I sometimes feel breathless at times but nothing like Ray has to deal with on a daily basis. Hope your pains are not too bad at the moment and you Di.
Yes took Molly to Baytrees after school. Didn't realise this time of year near Christmas shut at 5.30. That explains the really empty car park when we arrived. Got there about quarter to five. Had just time to see real reindeer that Molly was a bit weary of but interested in. Ask which one was rudolph as she couldn't see one with a red nose.
We then went round to Santa's Winter Wonderland that was really lovely lots of white christmas trees and twinkling lights. And scattered about lots of different themes going on. Singing Santa and friends ! Went on a sleigh round a track three times and Santa saying Ho Ho Ho!. Then went off to Santa's Grotto. One good thing with nearly closing time no queues to stand around in. Went inside with her to see Santa and her face was one of shock standing in front of Santa. He asked her what she wanted for christmas and said had to been giving her mum and dad lots of hugs. Also had she been good. There was a clatter at the side of him and a present and christmas tree came down the chimney. Made molly jump. She had photo taken with him and then we came out. Bought her photo for her to keep. She had a lovely time and had a jumping monkey game and a real little christmas tree to plant in her garden.
We have a christmas tree in our front garden that Amy had when she was Molly's age that we planted and is still growing. We did have three but only one left for some reason now.
Tomorrow is Molly's birthday so yesterday went food shopping with Amy to Asda to get party food. Today went into her school christmas coffee morning for about twenty minutes to here her sing some of her songs from her nativity next week. Won't be going to that as I said will look after Sophie so Amy can go.
Still busy got to make some little cakes now with melted chocolate and hundreds and thousands on top. Tomorrow morning make the sandwiches for Party that is at eleven. Think I shall need a good rest over the rest of the weekend.
My dad has gone in today to have his colonoscopy and they are keeping him overnight to make sure he is ok afterwards. Should be out tomorrow so try and get someone to take me round to see him on Sunday.
Well better go make these cakes. Take care everyone.

I fail to understand how these people convince the authorities when genuine claimants have to struggle and appeal to prove their case and probably end up more ill as a result.
I also know of a young woman, 27 years old with ME and Fibro who was stopped in a supermarket car park by an elderly man who accused her of stealing her disabled parking badge. On proving the photo was of her, he remarked that she didn't 'look old enough' to be disabled. where was his line of thinking coming from that he believed disability is for the aged people only. My friend Mark was born disabled.
I will put my soapbox away now. There will always be people who assume and stick their noses in but each of us know our cases and I really hope that your cases are approved because it makes so much difference when you can pay for that bit of help in the house.
