Has anyone beat pinworm/threadworm after having them for a long time?

I've now had pinworms for about 5 months, they've migrated to my female parts, and I believe they are also in my nose and ears. They don't really itch anymore in my lower half, I keep those areas very clean -- BUT that incessant squirming is an ongoing nightmare. I'm 33 and single and really want to be dating, but I know as long as I have them I can't risk giving them to somebody else. It's a very depressing realization to know that I may never be able to have a boyfriend again or get married. I think my doctor believes me, but the internal diseases specialist he referred me to does not and told me I probably just have dry skin down there (dry skin that WRIGGLES? I don't think so). The samples I gave them of course had no eggs on them, I'm guessing it's because I am now being retroinfected, otherwise I really have no explanation.

What I want to know is -- has ANYBODY else who had them for many months (or years, or decades) been able to finally get rid of them??? How did you do it?? Here's what I have tried that has NOT worked:

MEDICINES: Reese's, Albenza, Vermox (high doses). Yeast infection cream mixed with garlic.

NATURAL REMEDIES: Diatomaceous earth (food grade - taken orally and also spread on maxi pads and vaginal wipes), garlic cloves and powder, vinegar, pumpkin seeds, clove & wormwood tincture. Garlic and vinegar douche. Eating mainly vegetarian foods.

PILLS: Garlic, zinc, wormwood, clove and black walnut.

I read that some mountain folk eat tobacco to get rid of them, but it makes you really sick. I am afraid to try it, but I feel like I better try absolutely everything. I just can't fathom living with these things potentially for the rest of my life sad

my advice would be to ask your dr to refer you to an infectious disease dr. they are trained to deal with this kind of stuff. my son has gotten them 3 years in a row around the same time and after our referral to the infectious disease dr. i felt much better and that he actually knew what he was talking about. we havent seen them for almost a year so im praying its over.

i understand how you feel. i have two small kids one baby one toddler and a husband. hubby and i both infected but ofdly enough symptoms are not daily and not terrible but they are present. this past satirday i was like begging my husband for death because of these worms and the affect it has had on my life. i actually quite breastfeeding this past weekend just so i could take wormwood and other things that i havent been able to take. but i have taken the prescriptions and they dont work for me or my husband . it is so difficult i feel for you but do not despair or lose hope. i understand the suicidal feelings but if you are able to just find hope and keep pressing on i beleieve we can best this. i go through phases of being crazy depressed and then go through phases of just fighting through.

You're not alone. I have been having symptoms for almost a year and it has affected me mentally as well. I cry from time to time and it has really affected my relationship with my boyfriend. I also passed this on to my mother which I am very upset about. Stool tests and tape tests came out negative and I am not sure if I have actually seen them. However, like others have said, I definitely see white flakes on my black underwear. I also started feeling them in my nose recently. Please do not give up ❤️ Take a break from the excessive cleaning if you need to. I will definitely post on here once I find something that works. We can help each other ❤️

So far, I have tried many rounds of mebendazole (even twice a day for a month), albendazole, and pyrantol pomoate. These did not do anything for me. I also tried diatomaceous earth morning and night and eliminated sugar. There's a long list..but no luck.

I am currently taking powdered MSM (around 6000g/day) which has reduced my symptoms. I have taken it for 2 weeks now and I will continue for another 2 weeks. It thickens the mucous lining of your intestine, which prevent the worms from clinging on. You eventually pass them in your stool.

I had an appointment with an infectious disease specialist who did not know what to do. He is supposed to call me back later this week to follow up. I'll let you know what he says.

I know how hard this is, especially when you have little kids. You're strong and you can get through this ❤️

Correction: I meant to say 6000mg of MSM, not grams. I take 2000mg after each meal. It is recommended to take 5000-10 000mg to have an affect.

There are some naturopaths that recommend taking chondroitin sulfate. Please do some research on this. I am going to incorporate this with MSM. Do you feel the worms during the day as well or just at night?

Hi please can you tel me what MSM is & where I can buy it I'm from London UK... My sleeping pattern is a joke, I can't sleep until silly o'clock in the morning.. I've take OVEX twice now but, like a idiot I see my friend that I suspected I caught them from in the first place & I met up with her outside thinking everything will be ok as its outside, but little did I know the eggs can stick to anything.. I allso have a 3yr old grandson.. &.. If he scratches his Bum & rubs his eyes.. &.. Heaven forbid if a egg gets into his eye he will go blind.. I don't want or need that s**t in my life, I have told my friend who said she's not itching, but her kids have had them, she foolishly did not treat her self or any other adults in her family & I suspect she has not told her friends about it either.. +they have young children too 🙉🙉
