Has anyone ever tried using a SAD lightbox?

With the day's getting shorter just wondered if anyone had tried using a lightbox? They are supposed to help with low mood and tiredness over the winter so was wondering if they might help with any of the symptoms of CFS/M.E. as well.

I did wonder if one might give me a headache as it would be a very bright light. Have been reading reviews on ones and a few people have mentioned getting headaches but a lot of people give them positive reviews and say they really help. If I get one it might be safer trying a cheaper one in case it doesn't agree with me!

You can adjust the intensity of the light with my GoLite one. Perhaps make sure you get one that can do that. And start with 5 minutes and work up to more time, just to see if you get headaches. I would have thought that most people don't. In fact light therapy makes my head feel clearer.

Thanks Georgia - will see if there are any adjustable ones. Looked at the one you recommended but it's quite expensive. Will see if I can see a cheaper similar one. There seem to be a few reduced in price just now.

Yes it is; I'm really happy that I got mine second hand.

Will you keep us updated on how it goes when you get one? You could make a new post on it. It'll be good to get more people to try them.

Am keen to try one to see if it helps as I definitely feel worse on the short dark days in winter. Am shattered most of the time anyway but in winter just feel like hibernating. Will let you know how I get on!!
